If you want to earn good saving I don't think SG is a bad option.
If you have 7+ yrs experience can go for a salary more than 8.5K SGD.
But nowadays SG is quite costly. But if you are still single you can save.
Contact someone lankan guy in SG and ask how much for rented house/room, utility bills and tax they spend and then calculate your saving in Sri Lanka vs SG. You may have to consider relocation cost also since most companies don't pay relocation cost.
Usually recruitment is done for most companies via agencies/vendor companies who handles the payroll.
So you have to work under a client and your real company is the payroll company.
Work life balance depend on this client company since they recruit foreigners paying higher amount of money than Singaporeans so they expect much more work from expats.

I don't think you can go TL directly with 7yrs of exp since most of the vacancies are for SE and SSE positions upto 10yrs in SG.
And I suggest you to not to go to SG less than 9K SGD if your wife cannot work there since it will be difficult to save much. If she is also in IT field then she can find a job easily and income is reasonable for a family of 3. But then have to think about day care or helper to look after the kid.
Most of the agencies don't provide insurance for the dependents. So research about medical expenses also for kid and wife.
As I know these days even a studio apartment is cost around 2.5k - 3k SGD per month minimum.

If you can get a job more than 15K Ringgit then Malaysia is also a good option. It might be seems that when you convert to rupees it is much lower than what you can earn in SG. But cost of living in MY is way less than SG and living conditions are better for a family in Malaysia. I mean standards in SG is better but it is more relaxing in MY. Big houses for less rent price... Plenty of places to visit and enjoy with family etc...

Don't do this. it is extremly costly with a kid.
these numbers are 2017 numbers so i assume things are more expensive
daycare costs normally starts at 1200 per month
international school will costs closer to 3000 per month
yes there are govt schools. but good luck getting a place as a foreigner.

so give up the idea and try a western Europer, canada or Ausi/NZ with a family
