Those rankings are based mostly on the quality of life of the students. Such as Laboratory facilities, accommodation, extra curricular stuff. If they ranked them according to the results obtained by students, then the list would be lead by all the Asian universities! No way in hell then would those Americans beat the Japanese, Chinese, Indians and also our local grads!!!
