Worlds youngest black belt :A 5 year old girl
FLYING through the air, five-year-old Varsha Vinod shows why she's the youngest person ever to get a black belt in karate. Fixing her Minnie Mouse headband and pigtails afterwards, Varsha giggled with glee and explained why she started karate at the tender age of two.
She says: "My dad is a full-time karate instructor. "I used to watch him practising and asked if I could join a class to keep him company. "Of course I was the youngest that day, but I wasn't nervous.

"The oldest student was 55, so everyone was smiling when they saw a tiny girl walk in. "They were really happy to have me there, so I kept going back." Varsha hails from Purakkad, in Kerala, India, but is visiting the UK to promote the Mini Ninjas computer game.
Within six months of taking up karate she'd achieved her first belt - yellow. Thanks to two and a half hours daily practice with Dad, Vinod Viswanathan, 37, she raced through the next eight belts in just three years.
Varsha also mastered deadly martial arts weapons like the yawara stick, or Chinese stick, and the nunchucks. Her dedication paid off and on 9 May, Varsha achieved the prestigious 10th karate grade - black belt - from the Ko-In-chi Academy of Martial Arts.

She says: "I'm really proud to be the youngest person with a black belt in the world because I put in a lot of hard work. "Getting a black belt is tough and normally takes five years. "I had to perform kicks, routines and spar in front of strict judges.
"Passing was a great feeling because I was inspired by my dad. "I hope I made him very proud too."
