as far as i c this is just a joke.its just government trying to show the ppl in south( who are so depressed vth the prices of goods, and highly increased number of bombing in south) that ppl still hv faith on this government. in order to show that they hv to win.and they are willing to do anything to archive that. and it all can go in LTTE account.so no problem..

il be happy if u can clearly point out 1 great thing this government has done so far...with clear points.

EPDP tops 1st result out unofficially

[2008-05-10 10.50pm] The EPDP has topped the list in the first result from the May 10th Eastern Provincial Council election that has been released unofficially.

With the count of votes of the displaced voters in Batticaloa taken, the party has polled 52 votes.

The UNP is in second place with 48 votes, followed by the UPFA with 19 votes, unofficial results say.

[2008-05-11 12.40am] According to unofficial postal voting results of Batticaloa district, the UPFA has polled 2,159 votes.

The UNP has received 1,282 votes.

Polling at 3 centres in B'caloa to be annulled?

[2008-05-11 12.20 am] Annulling polling at three centres in Batticaloa from where serious malpractices have been reported is under consideration by Returning Officer Sundaram Arumainayagam, his deputy T. Krishnanandalingam told 'Lanka Dissent' a short while ago.

The RO has received several complaints about poll malpractices at Eravur, Kalkudah and at another place.

Discussions are underway whether to annual polling at the three centres, the ARO said.
