    Tremor hits Balapitiya

Quake Update: A slight tremor was felt in the southern coastal town of Balapitiya between 4.15 and 4.30 pm earlier today, an official with the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said a short while ago.

The development in Balapitiya was believed to be an aftershock of an earthquake that hit the Maldivian coast around the same time, the official added.

I take refuge in the Noble Triple Gem( Lord Buddha, Dhamma & Arya Sanga – arhaths free from defilements) . I will not change my religion till I die.

So, if there is Allah or any other supreme God who thinks that I am wrong kill me within one hour from the time I post this to prove that I am wrong.

By the way, if I die after one hour that cannot be considered as proof.

    :)

Even if they do exist they believe that I am correct.

So, hope others will make an attempt to learn Buddhism like them
    to understand the value

By the way, if I die now that can't be considered as proof to prove otherwise

who are not aware of it.

Well, we really don't want to go near the sun. I just can't
understand the reason about your desire to go near the sun.

    Simple

God does not perish. He does not need anything from us. Nor does he needs our worship. But we (humans )need God. God does not sleep. If he sleeps what will happen to the universe. Things to ponder about.

    PEOPLE ARE PROUD.

A real Buddhist is not proud. The following is just an example of the preaching of Lord Buddha,
1.Who seeks to promote his welfare,
Having glimpsed the state of perfect peace,
Should be able, honest and upright,
Gentle in speech, meek and not proud

2.Contented, he ought to be easy to support,
Not over-busy, and simple in living.
Tranquil his senses, let him be prudent,
And not brazen, nor fawning on families
    3.
Also, he must refrain from any action
That gives the wise reason to reprove him.
(Then let him cultivate the thought:)
May all be well and secure,
    May all beings be happy

    4.
    Whatever living creatures there be,
    Without exception, weak or strong,
    Long, huge or middle-sized,
    Or short, minute or bulky
    5.
    Whether visible or invisible,
And those living far or near,
The born and those seeking birth,
    May all beings be happy
    6.
    Let none deceive or decry
    His fellow anywhere;
    Let none wish others harm
    In resentment or in hate
    7.
Just as with her own life
    A mother shields from hurt
Her own son, her only child,
    Let all-embracing thoughts
    For all beings be yours
    8.
Cultivate an all-embracing mind of love
    For all throughout the universe,
In all its height, depth and breadth —
    Love that is untroubled
    And beyond
    hatred or enmity
    9.
As you stand, walk, sit or lie,
So long as you are awake,
Pursue this awareness with your might:
It is deemed the Divine State here
    10.
Holding no more to wrong beliefs,
With virtue and vision of the ultimate,
And having overcome all sensual desire,
Never in a womb is one born again

Anyway, when we say May all beings be happy! We do not consider the nationality or the religion. Whether it is a human being, a cow or a fish we should wish happiness. In doing so we shouldn’t support killing. Therefore we speak against that. Anyway, all living beings deserve to live happily without fear. Due to pride only some humans underestimate these creatures & destroy them.

Those who killed scientist should not talk rubbish.

Christians who killed Galileo should not talk of science. God does not perish. What will happen to the universe if he perishes.

Brother I strongly condemn those acts of cruilty I personally spoken with our priest regarding this matter

Jesus Christ never promote violance (not like Mohomed) he is the one who said "Live by the sword, die by the sword"

Here is the bible reference Matthew 26:51-52

Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him. 51 With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.

52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

I really do not understand the difference between your true God
and the other God. Anyway, they both seem to think that
if we go down and repent our sins we can get away with everything.
So, according to them one can kill his own mother and go to
your God or the other God and ask for forgiveness.

Anyway, my joke as you call it was not considered as a sin.
See, I am still here alive. But mind you my intention was not
to make fun of their belief. It is purely out of compassion.
I too have been living in fear just like them long time ago. But with the following I came to know that I have lived in fear without a valid reason.

Disparities and the reason according Buddhism(Cause and effects)

    (01) Those who destroy lives of others will face untimely deaths
    (02) Those who abstain from killing will enjoy long life
    (03) Those who harm others will fall sick very often
    (04) Those who abstain from harming will enjoy good health
    (05) Those who practice ill will & hatred will be born as ugly
    (06) Those who abstain from practicing ill will & hatred will be born as beautiful
    (07) Those who practice jealousy will live in anonymity
    (08) Those who abstain from practicing jealousy will be famous
    (09) Those who abstain from offering alms will be born as poor
    (10) Those who offer alms(generous ones) will be born in rich families
    (11) Those who are proud & conceited will be born in low caste families
    (12) Those who practice modesty will be born in high caste families
    (13) Those who abstain from learning & practicing Dhamma will be born as foolish
    (14) Those who learn & practice Dhamma will be born as intelligent

I got rid of most of my fear and gave up praying because long life and diseases depend on these processes (niyama) which operate in the physical and mental realms.

The Four Noble Truths in Buddhism

    1. The Reality of Suffering--dukkha The Pali word dukkha, in ordinary usage means 'suffering', 'pain', 'sorrow' or 'misery'. But in the context of the First Noble Truth, dukkha also means 'imperfection', 'impermanence', 'emptiness', 'insubstantiality'. There are three kinds of suffering:

    • Ordinary Suffering--dukkha-dukkha
    • Suffering produced by Change--virapinama-dukkha
    • Suffering as Conditioned States--samkara-dukkha

    Ordinary Suffering--dukkha-dukkha

There are all kinds of suffering in life: birth, old age, sickness, death, association with unpleasant persons and conditions, separation from beloved ones and pleasant conditions, not getting what one desires, grief, lamentation, distress--all forms of physical and mental suffering.

    Suffering produced by Change--virapinama-dukkha

Pleasant and happy feelings or conditions in life are not permanent. Sooner or later they change. When they change they may produce pain, suffering, unhappiness or disappointment. This vicissitude is considered viparimana-dukkha.

    Suffering as Conditioned States--samkara-dukkha

An 'individual', an 'I' or a 'self' is a combination of ever-changing mental and physical forces which can be divided into five groups or 'aggregates' pancakkhandha. Suffering as conditioned states is produced by attachment to these five aggregates: • Matter--rupakkhandha • Sensations--vedanakkhandha • Perceptions--sannakkhandha • Mental Formations--sankharakkhandha • Consciousness--vinnanakkhandha

    2. The Cause of Suffering--samudaya
    3. The Cessation of Suffering--nirodha
    4. The Path to the Cessation of Suffering—magga

    (Source:http://dharma.ncf.ca/introduction/4-Noble-Truths.html)

    Niyama Dharma in Buddhism
According to Buddhism, there are five orders or processes (niyama) which operate in the physical and mental realms.

    They are:
Utu Niyama - physical inorganic order, e.g. seasonal phenomena of winds and rains. The unerring order of seasons, characteristic seasonal changes and events, causes of winds and rains, nature of heat, etc., all belong to this group.

Bija Niyama - order of germs and seeds (physical organic order), e.g. rice produced from rice-seed, sugary taste from sugar-cane or honey, peculiar characteristics of certain fruits, etc. The scientific theory of cells and genes and the physical similarity of twins may be ascribed to this order.

Karma Niyama - order of act and result, e.g., desirable and undesirable acts produce corresponding good and bad results. As surely as water seeks its own level so does Karma, given opportunity, produce its inevitable result, not in the form of a reward or punishment but as an innate sequence. This sequence of deed and effect is as natural and necessary as the way of the sun and the moon.

Dhamma Niyama - order of the norm, e.g., the natural phenomena occurring at the advent of a Bodhisattva in his last birth. Gravitation and other similar laws of nature. The natural reason for being good and so forth, may be included in this group.

Citta Niyama - order or mind or psychic law, e.g., processes of consciousness, arising and perishing of consciousness, constituents of consciousness, power of mind, etc., including telepathy, telaesthesia, retro-cognition, premonition, clairvoyance, clairaudience, thought-reading and such other psychic phenomena which are inexplicable to modern science.

By the way, I do not want to go to your God (true or not)by force or due to fear of death. I prefer to sacrifice myself to Buddhism than living a hilarious life. As for the blessings, I can only say wish you the same CHILD.
Hope you will get to understand the real truth with those blessings. Thanks
