Help me buy a telescope

folks i need to buy a telescope, to observe the night sky mostly during my free time..

you guys happen to know where they sell telescopes in sri lanka?

i checked on ebay but the shipping charges are ridiculous. i mean they charge $100 for a telescope costing $90

well these things are cheap but i don't feel like paying 5000 for shipping for something that costs 10000. i believe if i can find one on sale in sl i'd be able to save a few bucks here..

well these things are cheap but i don't feel like paying 5000 for shipping for something that costs 10000. i believe if i can find one on sale in sl i'd be able to save a few bucks here..

These telescopes are bit bulky and thats why they charge lot for shipping. I think they ship through courier service like DHL , Fedex etc..

Problem is its very dificult to find these things in here

Telescope for Astronomy

You can buy a 4.5" Newtonian telescopes from Sarasavi bookshop. Though they are Chinese they are in good quality for us... I used mead and celestron eyepieces which cost me Rs 30,000.. but still they are producing breathtaking views....Telescope will cost you Rs 25,000.
