How to reset ADSL Router?

I forgot the user name & password. I tried to reset the router using the reset button at the back of the router. But, it didn't help. Don't know whether I missed something. Any clue?.

Look on the back of router. There should be a small hole, usually just to the
left of the power jack on router. Inside that hole is a small button. Find
something small enough to press and hold it while the router is powered up.
While pressing and holding, watch the lights on the front. With router, its
usually the M1 and M2 lights that will go solid while holding the reset
button. Keep holding the reset until they start blinking. Its now reset.

don't you have the piece of paper SLT gives with the PW.

Usually the use name is your phone no with the SLT exchange in your area.
Eg: xxxxxxxmd (this is mine md means maradana)

I tried it. I'm in Moratuwa. So, it's [email protected] & the password.
It didn't work.

My router is a "ZTE ZXDSL 831 II". I tried using that hole, as it is mentioned in the manual. (Pressing for 3 seconds. Didn't work. Pressed 3 times. it also didn't work.)
