Assalamu Alaikum
As we are aware, now the tension between Sinhala and Muslim communities turns to an unhealthy level. We believe that this is due to misconceptions, doubts and fear about Muslims and Islams. Now these negative thinking have reached a level where some Sinhalese have decided to attack us even in public. This is very dangerous trend. However, this segment is a smaller portion the Sinhala community where of them are goodhearted and peace-loving genuine people.
Even though a very smaller group of them has such extreme hatred and animosity on us, majority of them are not aware about our religion, culture and spirituality. That is the reason behind the silence of the majority of Sinhalese when some men from their own community come and attack our religious places.
We believe that we should take some quick protective measures. One of the most important things is to remove the haunting misconceptions and fear about Muslims. The key allegation against us is that we are with a plan to convert Sri Lanka in to a Muslim Country by following ways
- Increasing our population systematically
- Building mosques every nook and corner
- Grabbing Sinhalese land and business so that the increasing Muslim population can be accommodated comfortably
- Using various chemicals to poison or infertile Sinhalese (even this seems to be a freaky thing many children have grown up saying this)
The sad part of all these is that all the plots against Sinhala are done in mosques specially on Friday Quthbah. That's why the mosques are becoming the prime target of their attack. As every one of us knows that this is a very funny, unwarranted fear and a very serious misconception. However, we have failed to tell this truth to them.
We believe that the feeling of loosing the one and only Sinhala nation day by day to Musilm is the major problem for them. This fear psychosis has gradually propagated in their minds and earned the majority attention.
So by addressing this particular issue will solve so many problems and will help us to create at least some 'Abu Thalibs' among them.
Hence, we, MuslimWatch, decided to embark on an awareness campaign by publishing articles in mainstream media on following topics.
1. Sri Lankan Population and Muslims
(We should statistically prove that there is no planned population growth or "reproduction" for Muslim community)
2. The Importance of Mosque in Muslim's life
(We should tell to them why we want a mosque closer to us, why Muslim so much worried about building a masjid etc.)
3. Muslims contribution to Sri Lanka
(Our role in unity, peace, development etc.,)
Hence, we kindly seek the support of the intellectuals, writers to journalists to bring about these important articles. Articles in Sinhala and/or English are mostly welcome.
