Another boat with 39 Sri Lankans have landed at Christmas Island, Australia.

Royal Australian Navy patrol boat HMAS Maitland intercepted the boat west of Christmas Island on Sunday night, Australian Home Affairs Minister Jason Clare said.

Australian media reports said the
local authorities believe the boats are sailing directly from Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan government has denied reports saying the boats are traveling from Sri Lanka.

    UPDATE:

Sri Lankan Government spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said no Sri Lankans were found in the recent boats to Australia.

He said this was a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the country.

Australian officials confirmed they were Sri Lankans.
