I started losing hair weeks after coming to UK. I tried few things but after a while I just gave up. :( I blame UK for eating up my hair.

    Srilanka
Long post, but take your time and read it,
Are you in Srilanka or anywhere else?Because you have mentioned about a Winter?any way you 1st find the answers for these,
1.Are you new to the country where you are staying? If yes are you were in a high temperature area back in srilanka?
2.Did the hair start falling before the winter or in the winter?I mean does the hair start falling after the climate change?
3.Does the hair fall often or only at the bath?
if only @ bath cheer up:cool:

Normally 100 - 200 hair falls per day.you can specially observe it in shower. When you scrub your hair or when you comb.(Stop combing wet hair:))

There are some other causes for hair fall-
    hormone imbalance,
thyroid problems(can occur by lack of iodine)
    some medicines,
    diabetes,
    Nutrition deficiency's
    & stress.

If you are new to that country,
    Climate change,
    change of the life style,
    also matters.

The thing is no one can recommend you a shampoo. You have to get your shampoo according to your hair(scalp - skin under hair) type.
Let me make it easy for you.

    For a Oily Scalp.

a)Avoid shampoos that are hydrating, moisturizing, smoothing, or good for curly hair. These shampoos tend to add too much moisture to your already oily scalp.

b)Look for labels that read volumizing, strengthening, or balancing. These products are less moisturizing and more effective at removing excess oil.

c)A daily clarifying shampoo can be a big help to super oily scalp conditions, but be careful that you're not over drying your scalp when choosing to use a clarifying shampoo. Over drying can actually stimulate more oil and sebum production.

d)Try a super clarifying treatment when your oily scalp is really out of control.

e)Be sure the shampoo you choose for your oily scalp is color safe.

f)Spend extra time working the shampoo into your scalp to break up oil. Rinse very well. Follow these steps to ensure proper shampooing.

    For Dry Scalp

a)Avoid strengthening, fortifying, and volumizing shampoos. These products can strip your scalp of necessary moisture.

b)For scalps that are only slightly dry with little to no itching and that do not flake, look for shampoo labels that promote moisture, hydration, smoothing, or curls (especially handy if you have curly hair). These products promote moisture and can be beneficial to your dry scalp.

c)If your scalp is very dry, itchy, and or flaky consider shampoos that are specifically formulated for dry scalp. Ingredients like menthol and tea tree can help moisturize your dry scalp.

d)Nioxin can be an excellent investment for moderate to severe dry scalp concerns.

e)Avoid shampoos that contain sulfates, which are very drying to the hair and scalp.

f)Even when your scalp is dry, it's important to properly shampoo your hair for best results.

Also there are some Ingredients in Shampoo You have to avoid.

    Extremely common ingredients
    Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
    Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
    Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
    Ammonium Xylene Sulfonate
    TEA Lauryl Sulfate
    Sulfur (in dandruff shampoos)
    Selenium Sulfide (in dandruff shampoos)
    METHYLPARABEN

    Less common ingredients
    Magnesium Sulfate
    Sodium Thiosulfate
    Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate
    Alkyl Sodium Sulfate
    Alkyl Benzene Sulfonate
    TEA-Dodecylbenzene
    Sodium C12-15 Alkyl Sulfate
    Sodium Dodecyl Sulfonate

So you have to be carefull when you are using a shampoo,Do not get yourself caught for awsome adverteisment.
There are some worldwide accepted brands such as L'oreal,Garnier etc.

also there are wrong habits of hair management:eek:

Some people do nasty stuff to save hair and lose it.

1.Do not oil your hair soon after bathing.
2.make sure you Wash out the shampoo totally,It not the dried out shampoo will harm your hair & the skin.
    3.Do not use excessive shampoo,
(Use the same shampoo every day, Do not use different products, stick to one)
4.Do not use hair dryer often to dry your hair(try not to use at all)
5.Try to avoid hair coloring, curling,Ironing often.(often ironing will reduce the strength of your hair.)

    Try using Vit E.
You can buy Vitamin E capsules from a pharmacy(It's a green or yellow color capsule with kind of an oil inside it)
Pinch the capsule, apply the fluid inside it mixing with your oil.(Yeah olive oil is OK)
Do this at least 24 hours before the path(means day before:))

That's all I know,If hair continuous falling it's better to go to a doctor.

So hope this will help you,
    Bye.
