great acting, great script, mindblowing psychological analysis of a lost and bored man who only sees 'scum' on earth..finally sacrifice himself to save a little girl, by doing so redeeming his pointless life, which would otherwise seem ..meaningless. he roams around, trying to give his life some meaning. He finally does that.
self redemption depicted in this film, the utter boredom of a life he doesn't understand which eventually leads him to it... It blew my mind even as i was typing this. that's why this film is one of the greatest films in cinema. and no noobs should view it.

you could never tell if travis was just plain bored, utterly lonely or just didn't know his place on earth...but he sure was a bit nuts

Grand Torino did the same thing I guess. Only difference I loved it.
Have you seen ****SPOILER ALERT*** the movie that scarlet is a mistress of some guy. Guy kill her and save his marriage
It was pretty close to this kind and way better.
