Intel gives brand new one to one parts when claiming warranty.
That's the case regardless of manufacturers warranty or shop warranty. If not, how are you supposed to repair a faulty CPU? It's the same with RAM. You can't repair a chip. You can just replace it.

I think people seem to misunderstand manufacturers warranty and shop warranty.

Shop warranty - you can only claim warranty by taking the product to the shop you bought it from with your bill (i.e. 99% PC components in Sri Lanka). You get warranty from the shop. The shop then deals with the manufacturer separately to get the warranty. The warranty applies from the date of purchase.

Manufacturers warranty - you can send the faulty product directly to the manufacturer or the authorized dealer regardless of where you bought it from. This is almost never possible in Sri Lanka. The warranty usually applies from the date of manufacture or the date shipped to agent.

They give second hand ones. In Unity PCHouse dealers used to give second hand ones even for intel sometime ago, even if we knew they were cheating we had nothing to do then. It's something everyone knows who used to buy computer parts from Unity since like 2005. (I don't know about the current situation there now, it might be still same) Intel took 3 months to return new parts though then.

Tulip dealer said me once that other brands repair motherboards when it is possible while intel always sends brand new boards but it takes three months for shipping.
