Asus 500 series Vivobook is their latest and one and only notebook series for matching for our budget that we are looking for.
Neither Asus X550LA nor Acer Aspire E1-572G is good in most cases bcz i hv good knowledge about their motherboards and the architecture they use to built them.
About Asus 500 series they have introduced low budget to fully loaded notebooks with various changes in specification such as CPU GPU HDD and RAM.
AFAIK the best Asus 500 series Vivobook which has reasonable price tag is K551L which has 20GB SSD plus 500GB or 1TB HDD. You can upgrade SSD whenever you want but only after warranty is expired. Cz its OEM stuff built in that SSD.
With That SSD you can boot up you computer within few seconds.
Also I highly recommend you to buy Asus Notebook without dedicated GPU unless you maintain it properly.Otherwise you will have to change either motherboard or reball your motherboard GPU for worst case scenario.
You don't have to buy a notebook with dedicated GPU for Basic 3D rendering applications like AutoCAD, Google SketchUP or any drawing applications. But if you are planning to do rendering for animation related stuff you need fully loaded GPU to run applications such as 3DMAX,MAYA etc. Intel HD Graphics 4400 has many features to run moderate 3D supporting applications. Also you can play normal games on it.
Honestly, I have got any trouble from the Acer notebooks which i had used previously but according to my technical knowledge nowadays they build notebooks using unnecessary electronic advancements which were failed at some points like ENE KB9012 Super IO chip. They were used them on Aspire V3-571, V3-471 and E1 series. Most of them were thrown way bcz its very hard to diagnose problems on motherboards mainly Southbridge chip and SIO chip.
Therefore if you are very much sure you might get good notebook, then go for Acer.
Bcz I am not in a position to criticize any of them without using them for atleast 6 months.
Asus didn't failed in batch of their production but Acer had failed many times such as V3, EI and 4749 (47 series). Therefore without showing reliability on their products I cannot recommend anyone to bet on their luck and buy a notebook.
Finally, main thing you have to keep in your mind is not to buy a notebook with dedicated GPU if you need it desperately.
