Hi guys.

I'm not very active here in Elakiri.com as I used to be a few years ago, but I still keep coming here everyday and look at the various threads coming up, as everyday there's something new you learn or see something new that you've never seen before. There's a lot of new users up here putting up some great threads and all I can say is keep it up. :D

I'm currently training to be a pilot and I've only got 2 or 3 months to finish my training. I've always wanted to be a pilot since I was a kid. I've seen a lot of beautiful things while being up there. The beauty of the world that we don't see while we are on the ground. The sad part is, I rarely have a camera to capture it. What I see will only be in my mind. I wanted to share this with you all in Elakiri.com and I made a small video. It doesn't really show much, but its nice to show you all what I'm doing and how much I'm enjoying it. The main point of the video was to show my parents that all is worth it. Hope you guys like it.

This is another video I made sometime back when I was building time in Portugal.

If there's anyone else who is involved in Aviation, please share any videos or pictures here, and will keep this thread running for aviation related topics. Sharing the knowledge and experiences. If there's anyone here who'd like to know anything about aircraft or what the procedure of training to be a pilot or need any tips, can use this thread.

Machan the procedure is different from the procedure to be a pilot. I have to look into that and get back to you about it. Till then you can check these out and I've heard the SriLankan airlines program to be a good one. I've known people who was at Asian Aviation Academy and have got jobs abroad, so that might be a good option too.

If theres anyone in Elakiri.com who knows anything about this part, would be great if you could add some information.

I will look into it and get back to you machan costaxxx

one of my dream machan...now I am 29 and my father could not afford for this..but I hope to get PPL in near future

Machan I had to wait for 2 years after school doing something I didn't like because my parents were not able to afford my pilot training. But I kept trying and somehow eventually I got the chance. Just keep trying bung and your dreams will come true. Dont worry about the age machan, theres people a lot older than you starting pilot training so dont worry about that and keep trying. :D Wish you the best machan

bro can you gv me details abt the course and the fees???

    many thanks

Machan the prices vary according to the school, place, country, the fuel price there, regulations and aircraft they use. Different countries have different minimum requirements for their licenses so that affects the prices too. From what I've researched during the time I was looking for a place to go is that, USA is one of the cheapest places to get flight training. But also one of the best places to get flight training.

In my opinion the best country in terms of recognition of licenses and standard of flight training is the UK. One reason being that is, its under the European Aviation Safety Agency, and all licenses given are EASA licenses. However, this does not mean every European country is good. But the UK specifically, from experience, has a very high standard of training. The only downside is, its very expensive there. If I had the chance to go there and finish my training, I'll happily take it. That means, if you can go there, go for it.

If you take the cost factor and standard of training, then the best option is USA. For examples, no landing charges in almost all airport. The living cost in America is cheaper as well.

At the end of the day where ever you train and what ever license you have, if you go get a job in some other country you have to convert it. What matters is, what license is going to be the least hassle to convert and what license is going to get you a job.

The EASA and FAA(USA) licenses are good anywhere, and so are the Australian and New Zealand licenses.

For the prices, you have to contact the schools and get it directly from them. Roughly, I would say make it 70,000 US Dollars, just as an estimate.

One thing you have to keep in mind is that, the prices that schools give you are only calculated according to the minimum hours required to get a license. By the end of your training and by the time your ready to go for the check ride, most probably your gona have flown higher than your minimum, so you'll have spent more. Its the same in pretty much all schools. So just keep that in mind. Not saying its not possible, but its highly unlikely, to be ready for the check ride with only the minimum hours required in hand.

Good luck in looking for schools machan. Hope this helped you. Let me know if any more information is needed machan.
