1. is it true that allah will give 72 virgins in heaven if you kill someone in the name of god? if not what's the story of 72 virgins in heaven.
Firstly, In Islam we have a concept of martyrdom. This is when someone dies defending Islam, he/she is called a martyr. These shuhadah or martyrs are rewarded by God much more than the usual person. In Islam the most noblest way of dying is to die as a martyr, and many muslims wish for such a death.
It's a noble thing to wish for such a death.
The Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) said: Who seeks martyrdom with sincerity shall get its reward, though he may not achieve it.
But it's not only dying for the defense of Islam that makes one a martyr...Islamic scholars have given so many instances. Such as dying of a some diseases or even dying while protecting your state or property. Those muslim fighters in the SL army who died protecting SL from the seperatists are considered martyrs as well.
The Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Whoever is killed defending himself is a shaheed (martyr), whoever is killed defending his family is a shaheed, whoever is killed defending his property is a shaheed, [and whoever is killed defending his religion is a shaheed].
A muslim shouldn't wish to be a martyr just for the reward attached to it. One wished it to please God. Doing good deeds for the sake of avoiding punishment or to get reward shows a lack of faith or imaan...doing good deeds for th sole purpose of pleasing God is the shows the best of faith.
There are many things attached to the reward of the martyr. The best of martyrs is the ones who dies in the battlefied defending Islam. The Quran says:
Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allāh as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision. They rejoice in what Allāh has bestowed upon them of His Bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred) that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve. They rejoice in a Grace and a Bounty from Allāh, and that Allāh will not waste the reward of the believers.
There is no mention of 72 virgins (or anything like that) in the Quran. Nor in the books of Bukhari or Muslims (which is second to the the Quran in terms of Islamic doctrines and stuff).
72 virgins is mentioned in the books of Tirmirdhi and Ibnu Majah...
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "The martyr receives six good things from Allah: he is forgiven at the first shedding of his blood; he is shown his abode in Paradise; he is preserved from the punishment in the grave; he is kept safe from the greatest terror; he has placed on his head the crown of honour, a ruby of which is better than the world and what it contains;
he is married to seventy-two wives of the maidens with large dark eyes; and is made intercessor for seventy of his relatives."
So that's that.
And you have wrongly said that a muslims is rewarded for killing someone in the name of god. That's absurd! Killing innocents is a huge crime and sin against is not condoned by Islam.
Consider the following incident:
A man asked the prophet : “O Prophet of Allāh, what about if a man came to me asking for my money (meaning to take it by force).” The Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Don't give him your money.” So the man said: “What if he fights me?” The Prophet said: “Fight him (back).” The man asked: “What if he kills me?” The Prophet peace be upon him said: “Then you are a martyr.” The man asked: “What if I kill him?” The Prophet said: “(Then) he is in the hell-fire.” (Because he is a transgressing oppressor). [Narrated by Muslim]
So you see that it's purely defensive.
Jihad is a defensive war. It's a sin to launch an offensive war/fight with an enemy if the harm is greater than the good.
2. Most of the terrorist groups are muslim. why?
Because Islam can easily be exploited by terrorists. The main reason for this is the two concepts of Islam :
ummah and
jihad. These groups do all sorts of things in the name of jihad...and the protection of the ummah.
Other religion do not have such concepts so cannot be exploited by terrorists to fight a so-called "religious war",
