Of course Kula can be considered. All you need to do is clear the 30yrd circle , rest will do the ground. we don't need to hit Sixes , but at least 2,3 Boundaries per over for first 6 Overs. Basically 10runs per over for first 6.
yes it is just to clear the infield no need to hit 6s.
kula fits the bill well. he is not hit everyball type silly pinch hitter and he has a good technique.
one way chandi can improve if he is continued as an opener is to make subtle movements in the crease to get advantage over line and length and unsettle the bowlers. he should not just come down the pitch or try very unconventional shots, rather move here and there just to find gaps. he has good technique and in a bit of a form (sadly this form comes on the expense of consuming lots of valuable power play deliveries), so this will be easy for him. the thing i hate most is to see just blocking balls or play defensive shots. even to a good ball you need to show that scoring intent and aggression so the bowlers are cautioned and that will make them more mistakes. openers need to let the opposition know that we are attacking you and we dont mind losing our wickets because our other batters are there to back up. thats what india does, they create that big boy impression so the bowlers know even if we get the openers there is more to come.
as mentioned here in a previous post, we were not a team who scored big rather we won by good bowling and creating pressure at right times. so if we win it will be largely due to good bowling efforts mainly.
