    denissuarez-cropped_11m59ov6o3dgc19v83bm0o01kp.jpg

Denis Suarez is going back to Barcelona after the Liga champions exercised a buy-back clause, signing him on a four-year-deal from Villarreal.

Villarreal signed the attacking midfielder to a four-year contract in July last year after he had spent the previous season on loan at Sevilla.Suarez made 48 appearances in all competitions for Villarreal and scored five goals while contributing 13 assists.

But he will now to return to Camp Nou, Barca paying €3.25million to bring him back to Catalonia.

Suarez's new contract has an option for a fifth year, which is dependent on the number of appearances he makes in the fourth season of the deal. The 22-year-old, who has never played for Barca's first team but has been capped once by Spain's senior side, now has a buy-out clause of €50m.

:shocked:Matuidi travels to England to thrash out future

    1967972_heroa.jpg

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi travelled to England on Monday to address his future, Goal has learned. The 29-year-old took a brief break away from the France camp at Euro 2016 for the trip, with an exit from the capital club looking likely.

The identity of the club or clubs with whom he is in discussions is not yet confirmed but Manchester United have been strongly linked.

Matuidi shares an agent, Mino Raiola, with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has just completed his own move to Jose Mourinho's side.

The midfielder is expected to return to Didier Deschamps's national team in time for training at 16:00BST, with a semi-final against Germany on the horizon for the tournament hosts.

Bale plays down Ronaldo rivalry ahead of Wales v Portugal clash

Gareth Bale has played down any rivalry between himself and Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, ahead of Wales' Euro 2016 semi-final clash with Portugal.
Bale and Ronaldo have spent three seasons together at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the Welshman's world-record transfer fee reportedly having an immediate negative impact on the pair's relationship.

However, Bale insisted he gets along well with Ronaldo and their European Championship meeting will not degenerate into a battle of individuals.

"It's not about two players, everybody knows that, it's about two nations, 11 men v 11 men," said Bale."It will be a very different game, they're in the semi for a reason but we'll enjoy the occasion as we have done.

"[Ronaldo is] a fantastic player, everybody knows what he can do, but we speak about what we can do as a team."The teams we've played had very good individuals, but it's about how we perform as a team and by doing that we can shut out a lot of threats.

"The star in our team is all of us. We are all together, we all work as one, running for each other, tackling for each other. We get on like brothers and we're having fun, enjoying the occasion, with no fear. It's working so far."

While Bale is enjoying his time with his team-mates, Ronaldo's attitude has been criticised after he blasted Iceland for having a "small mentality" and was filmed throwing a television reporter's microphone into a lake.

However, the Welsh star would not comment on his club-mate's state of mind.
"I'm not too sure [if Ronaldo is feeling tense], I can't comment on what he's feeling. I'm sure he had his reasons for doing what he did," continued Bale."I feel comfortable and we're enjoying ourselves. Sometimes you have to fulfil your responsibilities and doing interviews is a part of it.

"We get on well at Madrid and we enjoy playing with each other. I'm not sure what he does off the pitch, that's his private life. It's not for me to decide who's the better player. If I can help Wales win that's all I need."

Memphis: Man City, Dortmund friendlies will test Mourinho's Man Utd

    hd-memphis-depay-manchester-united_xq68lny30iw0z3g9w4yc5uqc.jpg

Memphis Depay is looking forward to friendlies against Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in China to gauge Manchester United's level under new manager Jose Mourinho.

FA Cup winners United had to settle for fifth place in the 2015-16 Premier League but will be looking to challenge for the title this campaign with the Portuguese heavyweight in charge.

Louis van Gaal was dismissed at the end of last season by the United hierarchy, who have signed defender Eric Bailly and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan expected to follow.

Depay, largely a disappointment following his switch from PSV in June 2015, will be under pressure to perform as part of the new regime, starting with the International Champions Cup match against Mkhitaryan's Dortmund in Shanghai on July 22."It's pre-season so we will be working on our shape and how we want to play and I'm looking forward to it," the Netherlands international forward told the United website.

"Dortmund have a really strong team and are difficult to beat."I think it will help to play strong teams. We can see how strong we are at that point which is always good to know. I think both will be tough games."

United will take on City in Beijing three days later in the first instalment of the renewed rivalry between Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, who were fierce foes during their time in charge of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively."Of course the derby means a lot to us and the fans," Depay said.

"It's really important to win those games. The rivalry is very big against City and there is always a good atmosphere when you win those matches. We know we will have a lot of supporters there so we have to win and it could be like a home game for us."

Former Chelsea and Inter boss Mourinho officially started work as United manager on Monday, as he aims to improve on the underwhelming attempts by David Moyes and Van Gaal to fill the void left by Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

:love:Mourinho to hold first Manchester United press conference

    soccer-aid-2016-jose-mourinho_t0ct98aqxzth1u0xzoc973gn1.jpg

Jose Mourinho is set to hold his first press conference as manager of Manchester United on Tuesday at 11am BST after officially starting work at Old Trafford.

The former Chelsea boss, who was appointed in May to replace Louis van Gaal, reported for his first day at the club's training complex on Monday.

To mark his arrival, Mourinho posted a photo of him alighting a train at Manchester Piccadilly station on Instagram accompanied by the words "I am here/UNITED we can."

Mourinho will be unveiled and face questions from the media at a news conference on Tuesday.

The 'Special One' has already sanctioned the signings of defender Eric Bailly and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan close to completion and talks ongoing for Pachuca winger Hirving Lozano.

However, Mourinho's tenure begins without United icon Ryan Giggs after the Welshman departed having rejected a reduced role to the assistant manager position he held under Van Gaal.

The new manager's first match in charge of United comes against Borussia Dortmund in China on July 22, before a meeting with rival Pep Guardiola three days later. The Red Devils then face Galatasaray in Sweden prior to a meeting against Everton in Wayne Rooney's testimonial.

United's season begins with the Community Shield against Leicester City on August 7, while they start their Premier League campaign at AFC Bournemouth on August 13.

Sir Alex: Giggs has the quality to become a successful manager

    ryan-giggs_1oq4gqkmg85d71r8tilcgy4c5g.jpg

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Ryan Giggs has what it takes to become a successful manager following his decision to leave Manchester United.

Giggs became assistant manager at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal after hanging up his boots in 2014, but opted to say farewell to United at the weekend in order to pursue a career as a manager elsewhere. The Scot has backed his former pupil to succeed as manager, although has warned him that picking the right club will be crucial to his prospects.

"It is time Ryan stood on his own feet, got out there and accepted the challenge," Sir Alex told BBC Sport."I think he is ready to manage and he has a lot of quality. He doesn't want to spoil that quality by going to a club that is sacking a manager every two minutes.

"I talk about his poker face. He has a bit of steel about him. It is such a highly intense results industry, you need people who go into it to have a bit of steel about them, a bit of character and personality."

New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho allegedly did not have room for Giggs as his assistant and Ferguson understands the Portuguese's preference to work with trusted right-hand man Rui Faria."You have got to have, in your assistant, someone you have trusted all your life," he added.

"When I came to United, I brought Archie Knox because he was a valuable person for me. I trusted him 100 per cent."Mourinho has had his assistant for years and, quite rightly, has stuck by his own man.

"If Jose hadn't had an assistant, I know he would have taken Ryan."

Benteke moves closer to Liverpool exit as Palace ready new £31.5m bid

    3419772_heroa.jpg

Christian Benteke is moving ever closer to becoming the fourth most expensive sale in Liverpool's history as Crystal Palace ready a second bid potentially rising to £31.5 million.

The Reds rebuffed an opening offer of £25m from Alan Pardew's side on Friday, insisting that they would not compromise on their £30m valuation of the Belgium international.

Goal understands the Merseysiders have yet to receive Palace's improved proposal, understood to be a basic sum of £27m with add-ons that could bump up the figure by a further £4.5m.

Liverpool would, however, need to analyse the plausibility of any additional add-on fees, as they are determined to recoup the majority of the £32.5m they paid Aston Villa for the forward last summer.

Should Jurgen Klopp's side be guaranteed £30m, only Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres and Raheem Sterling would have commanded a higher fee than the Belgian.
A deal would suit all parties with Palace keen to fortify their attack having missed out on Benteke's compatriot Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea, while the 25-year-old is desperate for regular first-team football.

The Reds would be happy to allow Benteke to leave, with the player now surplus to requirements, although the former Villa forward did still manage to score 10 goals for the club in the 2015-16 campaign despite struggling to adapt to Klopp's high-press style.

Emery: PSG want to win everything

    unai-emery-psg_mestjyc8sa7910sgeu61j6enq.jpg

Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery is undaunted by the expectations he will face after taking over from Laurent Blanc and says he wants to "win everything".

Former Sevilla boss Emery was last week confirmed as the replacement for Blanc, who was disposed of despite leading PSG to successive domestic trebles.

Blanc was criticised for his failure to deliver Champions League glory, with last season's exit at the hands of Manchester City marking PSG's fourth consecutive quarter-final elimination.

By contrast, Emery has enjoyed great success in continental competition, guiding Sevilla to three straight Europa League triumphs and is eager for more silverware.
"PSG's expectations are extremely high. It's a club of winners. I thrive on challenges... We want to win everything," Emery said.

"What is the limit of this team? There is none."The Champions League? Of course it is an important aim, but there are others."Our goal is to continue progressing, improving and growing. There is great optimism. With the current team, I think we can achieve big things."

PSG have been active in the transfer market, signing playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa, midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak and defender Thomas Meunier.

But Emery hinted PSG still need to strengthen in attack before the start of the new campaign."We still need to make a few adjustments and we're currently looking for the perfect option to strengthen our attack," he added.

Meanwhile Al-Khelaifi insisted Emery was always at the top of PSG's list of targets to replace Blanc."He was the first option, the first choice, we didn't speak to anyone other than coach Unai," Al-Khelaifi said.

"He is a coach who works very, very hard, who is close with the players and who has developed young players - that is very important for us."

Barcelona face €47m bill after botched property deal

    3012292_heroa.jpg

Barcelona's judicial woes show no sign of slowing down, as a new judgement from Spanish authorities threatens to leave them with a €47 million debt.

The club's board of directors released a statement on Monday detailing the issues discussed in the body's latest meeting.

And top of the agenda was a complaint over a plot of land sold in 2005 that could end up costing the club an eight-figure sum.

Barca spokesman Josep Vivas revealed that an arbitration resolution has ordered the Catalans to nullify the sale of 25 hectares of land in the Hospitalet de Llobregat district, known as Can Rigalt.

"This is not the time to look for a guilty party, but to try and resolve this in the best manner possible," Vivas told a press conference after the meeting.

"The financial department of the club is looking at the effects this could have, as are our legal representatives."

The plot had been granted to real estate company Inmobiliaria Mar during former president Joan Laporta's tenure, but a tribunal has ruled that there were irregularities in the transaction.

If the decision is upheld, Barcelona would be liable for the €35.4m they received at the time for the land, as well as interests and other costs.

In total, the club would have to pay out €47m, while receiving back property of the disputed plot.
