1.) People should be allowed to use energy (electricity) they produced elsewhere using solar. A reasonable percentage may be deducted from units, due to energy loss during energy transport and conversion. Then the people will start solar farms themselves.

2.) Off peak time should be managed with solar electricity as much as possible. Hydro electricity should be preserved for the production during peak hours. Fossil fuels would be used only when even hydro electricity production is also not sufficient.

3.) When more people have started solar farms, one day will come, when off peak (day time) could be managed by solar and renewable energy sources only. Then hydro electricity production would be sufficient to manage peak hours. (Evenings, etc)

If somebody with a good vision and courage could understand this, our people might have a better tomorrow, in the field of energy

Many people have laughed at many great inventions in the world. Once they are implemented and well functioning, then only many people realize ...

At the same time, when an idea/ concept is believed to be good, by majority of population, then who ever rule, tends to do, what is believed by the heard

All of them are. I hardly believe that There is any future for this country.

My prediction is it's going to be a part of india.Little india. In terms of culture, dress and way of living going to be same as india.

Sri Lanka has been under influence of that country "I.." over a long long time. Just take the Devanam piya thissa kings era. His name is Thissa. He got the "Devanam piya" part from india. He got religion from india. Luckiny it was said to be a good one. Once I hear, he even got his crown from india

    How about

    1) At non peak hours, Use solar powered motors to pump up the water from ground to a tank at the top of the mountain, this must be done at the time of highest irradiance. Then use the stored energy at the top of the mountain to drive a turbine to serve the peak load in the afternoon.

Since Sri-Lanka is surrounded by the sea and some points contain strong tidal currents, we can install Pelamis Attenuaters to generate electricity :)

Not just solar panels, Solar thermal energy, ocen thermal plants, and wave energy generations are few other alternative sources.

You don't believe that India have the worlds largest solar thermal plant. see the national geographic video

This is theoretically possible, when once energy production exceeds day time need. But, practically may have difficulties.
What I feel is, this is step 2. We can consider, after achieving step 1, which I've already explained.
    Anyway, agree with you
