The applicable tax rates for 250cc bike is as follows.
If its not more than 3 years old.
Excise Levy - 90% or Rs.1,500/- per cubic centimeter (cm3) of the engine
If its more than 3 years old,
Excise Levy - 90% or Rs.500,000/- per unit
Highest amount will be considered as the payable tax.
Please note that if its more than 3 years from the date of first registration you have to get the ICL (Import Control License) from the Import Controller.
Tax is calculated on the CIF value, which includes the Cost/FOB, Insurance and the Freight.

This is really usefull for me & thanks again. but, unfortunatley Honda company has stoped their manufacturing of hornet 250 @ 2007
( Newly one comes with 600 
) So , thats the why lot of people importing those bikes as for parts. So , there's no way to import a hornet as legally ! Thank you sir , i'm really appreciate your reply
