Over 1,500 Cars Have Been Destroyed In ‘Fast & Furious’. Here Are The Most Expensive Ones

Family values and the legacy of Paul Walker aside, the insanely impossible stunts are probably the main reason why people keep flocking to the theatres whenever there's a new 'Fast and Furious' movie!
With the stunts getting crazier with each instalment, it's no surprise that more than 1,500 cars have been destroyed since the very first film, 'The Fast and the Furious' (2001). 'Fast Five' (2011) saw the demise of 260 cars, while 300 to 400 cars were said to have gotten crushed, run over, thrown, and blown up in 'Fast and Furious 6' (2013) alone. 'Furious 7' (2015) recorded a smaller number at around 230, although it did manage to completely destroy a USD3.4 million Lykan HyperSport a.k.a. the third most expensive car in the world.

1. 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 (USD90,390), driven by rich kid Clay in 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' (2006)
Price: Manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) was set for USD90,390 in 2006.
Cause of Destruction: Crashed into a concrete pipe at high-speed.
2. 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (USD5 million), driven by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) in 'Fast Five'
Price: Only few exist in mint condition today, running at about USD5 million each and possibly up to USD10 million.
Cause of Destruction: Driven off a cliff into the Colorado River.
In Production: The real thing was used for filming as a "hero" car, meaning only actors can sit in it and it is never used for stunts. Ten matching replicas were built with custom modifications for about USD40,000 each to be used for jump scenes and eventual destruction.
3. 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona (USD185,692), driven by Dominic Toretto in 'Fast and Furious 6' (2013)
Price: Auto site Conceptcarz.com puts the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona at an average sale value of USD185,692 today based on 29 auctions sales. Its highest sale value was a whopping USD185,692 in 2015!
Cause of Destruction: Crashed into a bridge railing, possibly driven off said bridge.
4. and 5. 2014 Maserati Ghibli (USD72,850) driven by Ian Shaw and 1970 Plymouth Road Runner (USD94,742) driven by Dominic Toretto in 'Furious 7'

Price: The Maserati Ghibli was set at the suggested base price of USD72,850 in 2014, while the 1970 Plymouth Road Runner is going at an average sale value of USD94,742 based on 330 auction sales. Its highest sale value was in 2014, going for USD550,000.
Cause of Destruction: Head-on collision.
6. 2006 Aston Martin DB9 (USD155,000), driven by Ian Shaw (Jason Statham) in 'Furious 7'
Price: According to a Top Speed review, a brand new Aston Martin DB9 goes for around a base price of USD155,000 in 2006.
Cause of Destruction: Collided head-on with Dominic Toretto's 1970 Dodge Charger.
7. Perhaps the most sakit hati of them all, the USD3.4 million Lykan HyperSport, driven by Dominic Toretto in 'Furious 7'
Price: At USD3.4 million, the Lykan HyperSport is the third most expensive vehicle in the world. UAE-based company W Motors only produced seven units of the car, which features 220 diamonds in each of its headlights and can go from 0 to 60 in three seconds flat.
Cause of Destruction: Crashed through a skyscraper in Abu Dhabi, then straight into the ground.
8. And of course, Dom Toretto's many, many 1970 Dodge Chargers (USD53,641) that have been destroyed over and over, only to come back good as new before it crashes into something else again
Price: Based on 118 auctions sales, the 1970 Dodge Charger goes for an average sale value of USD53,641, with the highest sale value being USD200,000 in 2015.

Cause of Destruction: Toretto manages to outrun a train passing by... only to crash his father's Dodge Charger into a truck.
... 'Fast and Furious' (2009)...
Cause of Destruction: Crashed into a wall rigged with explosives.

Cause of Destruction: Crushed like an aluminium tin can by Luke Hobbs' (Dwayne Johnson) armoured car.

Cause of Destruction #1: Already shot at by a group of terrorists and Deckard Shaw, an "Off Road" Dodge Charger given to Toretto by Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) ends up completely destroyed after he drove it off a cliff to escape from Deckard Shaw as well as Mose Jakande (Djimon Hounsou) and his men.
Cause of Destruction #2: Head-on collision in yet another game of "chicken" with Deckard Shaw.
Cause of Destruction #3: "Flies" off a parking garage to throw a bag of grenades into a terrorist's helicopter, then crashes into the ground below.
