I agree with your point.It is reasonable to have a slight discrepancy but these 50$ tickets are totally a rip-off. Most of the tourist that visit Sri Lanka are reluctant to afford those . I have noticed in several travel blogs that those bloggers have skipped sigiriya, horton planes etc due ticket price.

If they have a separate queue for the people paying $50 it can be justified, where even as a local you could pay the $50 and use the shorter queue.
