IT salaries in Sri Lanka

Not 5. In last batch 10 people hired were hired from Wasao2 for 175k. And 10+ were hired from Sysco for 160k. Don't wanna argue with the ones who think they know everything

In this year 12 UCSC 4th year people out of 40 were hired by Sysco itself for 140k that means 30% out of the 4 year batch. but not even 5 IT people were hired out of 300 Industry doesnt give a shit about MoraIT

yeah may be this time but those numbers give very small percentages because they are out of 300 students my numbers are out of 40 students

Mora IT SE average 100-110k, this year may out una batch eke :3 I think it would sum up most of the things. I do not say Either UCSC or Mora IT is better, but the one who always perform gets a chance. But the reputation of University does have an effect.

True bro. UCSC special batch since 40 only! more demand because they are filtered out of a batch with 160 students. Average salary is 130-140k. plus CS was introduced 1st in SriLanka in UOC in 1967 and the highest PHD staff as lecturers are at UCSC. So thats why the high demand though Z score is somewhat lower than Mora.

only people did A/L Maths can go to UCSC but, both Bio and Maths people can go to Mora IT.
Hence, the Z-score to enter Mora IT is higher than UCSC (i.e. to limit the number of applicants)

True bro only maths people are allowed for CS in UCSC when people from many streams apply Z score goes up

This is utterly stupid. I got my degree as a 3 yr one from ucsc - cs. Now working as a tech lead in one of the top IT companies in SL. and almost all of my batch mates got job opportunities before completing the degree. Before graduation 90 percent were already working except for people who dropped the degree or couldn't complete.

Case is that 3yr cs degree is more focused in breadth in CS and designed for people going out as SE s, 4th yr special is more research oriented and focused on depth in CS suited for people going for higher studies.

Its not about 3yr or 4yr or anything that matters in the industry and what matters is your skill + experience. degree is a good boost when starting your career and thats it. 3yr degree people can get more industry experience during the time their batch mates complete the 4th yr. So in this case its a win win situation.
