How to Register a Sole Proprietor Business...PLEASE HELP?????

1. How do I register an individual business online, what is the official site??

2. How much money will it cost to register online???

3. To register I have to go to the Nawala Office to collect the forms, correct???

4. Are there any supporting documents required to register the sole proprietor business? What are the supporting documents??

5. Do I have to make Rubber Seals???

6. Do I need signatures of Witnesses, Public Notary at Law, Grama Sevaka???

If you don't want all that hassle.First go and meet your gramasewaka. He might take a bribe (sort of) 10000 rs and will do all things for you.Not even coming to visit your place.just ask him how to register

Sole proprietorships are registered by Provincial councils, which not possible to do online. Western province site is here: http://bnr.wp.gov.lk/

Registration is offline. Cost would be around LKR 2500 (may depend on province)

No. Forms are available at Divisional Secretariats

4. Are there any supporting documents required to register the sole proprietor business? What are the supporting documents??

Generally, you need to have a business place, your own or rented/leased. This needs to be provided with a deed/rent/lease agreement along with Gramasevaka certification. Also, you may need to pay a business license tax/levy for the business place, which is generally levied by Municipal (small sum). That is it in most cases.

5. Do I have to make Rubber Seals???

Not at the time of registration. You can get it done later. Especially when you open a bank account under the business name you will generally need a seal when you sign cheques.

6. Do I need signatures of Witnesses, Public Notary at Law, Grama Sevaka???

Yes Gramasevaka certification would be required
