Nissan leaf 24kwh to 40kwh conversion 1st time in srilana by LEAF SPA
There are several misconceptions and myths about 24kw to 40kw conversion among people. some published some fake photos also.some said 40kw only charge up to 24kw. Due to those myths and fakes i decide to publish this article about our project.
we started it one month ago and try it with two major aspects
1.Pair the car to the new battery with the existing BMS and VCM
Anyhow we success with both.tor to convert the battery data to the car
Anyhow we suscess with both.
1st we studied the data and the bms structure of the battery. Its completely different from the 2015 BMS.
but the CAN messages are not much differ. Battery voltage is slightly higher than the early batteries.but we tackled it.
but the battery wire from battery to heater shows little higher voltage and it sense by the ECU.So we have to do little works on it and match it.
Then we test the charging side.Unfortunately the battery stop charge at 30kwh. But after one night my guys were able to tackled it and now everything fine and new battery charge up to 37kwh.
Its proud to say this is the 1st and only successful 24kwh to 40kwh conversion in Srilanka. So we decide to leave
this car for few months at LEAF SPA (our workshop) as a demonstration vehicle for any one who interested it.
special thanks to my friend Buddi and Dayan for there great help for the 1st project
special thanks to Hybrid care company engineers and Mr Devasurendra from IBM company
Another thanks to EV enhanced to providing converter and Dinushka to handle the imports and custom clearings.
ultimately thanks everyone who support us and U....who thumbs up to us in this forum
