I've been here for one year now, I still haven't encountered anything like this from White people.

Racism is a universal problem. We are all racist to a certain degree and that's the honest truth. It's ingrained into us. I think what matters is how the wider society in general tolerates racism, and what protection and safeguards does the laws of the country provides.
Wherever you go to, you are sort of a third class citizen... Also you can be third class in your own country too.... Isn't that what's happening? Though it's one country One law rhetoric - the law is different to those in power and for those idiots who vote them in. It's patently obvious.
It should really the other way. At least in the developed countries there could be some racial elements but there aren't any slaves like in SL.

This depends on how an individual behaves in the society. If you wanna be treated as a first class citizen, you would really wanna blend in to the society and accept its values.

Correct.. But that doesn't happen always. Therein lies the whole damn problem. If you settle in another country just behave like one of them. You can have your traditions at home in private. Don't try to chow it down the throats of the people where you chose to settle. This is exactly the problem with the muslims. They try to change the existing system where they are totally alien to their beliefs. Totally wrong attitude. You chose to live elsewhere just behave like one of them. Otherwise just f!@# off. Pretty simple.. Isnt it?
You have your culture inside your home.... NOt in public in another country. I always say that if you live in Rome and if Romans kick the football using the left foot, you do the same. Don't even think to try the right foot. Sadly, this is the problem with our minorities too....

Yes.. Once I remember the Editorial of the Times of India. The editor specifically said that the Tamil issue is because of the lack of integration. He metioned that the major issue was due to the Tamils trying to maintain their own identity in another country. I am not being racial here but his observation is correct.

PS: I should probably add.... They migrate to Canada and brainwash bogus beliefs and hatred to their own kids who possibly never even saw SriLanka. Remember the recent videos? Pathetic.
