They asked for the calling person's name, location and incident time and told they will send the police petrol unit.
පොලිසිය පැමිණෙන තුරු කුමක් කළ යුතු දැයි අපට නොතේරුණි, අපි හොරා අල්ලා ගැනීමට උත්සාහ කළ අතර ඔහු සැඟවී සිටියේය.
පැය කිහිපයක් ගතවී ඇතත් කිසිවෙකු පැමිණියේ නැත...
We called the 119 again and there is no reference number you get for any online complaints, same story repeated with this second hotline call also. However after nearly 4 to 5 hours the police petrol unit came (from Area police station) but by that time the thief already escaped. Some houses lost cash and few jewellery due to this robbery. Following day they ask to come to police station to lodge a complaint. For now its been few months and still no proper solution.
So my questions are ?
- ඔබට මෙවැනි ගැටලුවක් ඇති වුවහොත් එයට මුහුණ දෙන්නේ කෙසේද? (should you wait till police come or beware police will come anyway after few hours so try to manage with something until then)
- Should you give bribe or some gift to get a quick service from area police station ? (what to do if they are deadly slow ?)
- In case of fight between the robbery team and villagers if a murder attempt / death occurs ? (purely because police is late to report to the incident)
- මෙවැනි සිදුවීම් නැවැත්වීමට පොලිසිය විශ්වාසදායකද or they are always reactive not proactive ? (proactive for major cases that can get high recognition or promotion for the officers involved)
