oya dewal arunama amathara dekata maseta 30000 - 50000 yanawamai. mata practically una dewal. mama bonneth na. club yanneth na. badu gahanneth na. but wena neccesary dewal kiyanne.

eg : annually wahaneta insurance + rev. licence, repairs, twice a year vehicle servicing, a long trip at least once a year, weddings, office parties,medicine etc..

And you have assumed that both parents are working in Colombo. If it's not one of them have to rent another place which costs another 25000 - 35000. Then how about the travelling?

And you have assumed that the vehicle leasing is the only cost for the vehicle as house rent. Is that so?
Because anyone has to spend a down payment of few millions.

So those are the other costs, that I had.

And there is no any savings for anything. Isn't so?

- Electricity - 10,000/=
- Well water (hence added to electricty)
- For meals per month - 50,000/= (Home cooked) (05 members including 2 kids and a servent)
- Servent salary - 30,000/=
- Fuel for vehicle - 10,000/=
- Data and entertainment- 10,000/=
- Other expenses (School stuff, Medical, House hold items and other stuff) - 15,000/=
- No loans, no rentals, no finance

So roughly 125k would be enough for comfortable life.
All other earnings goes to savings.
No other expenses recently such as trips or parties due to Covid.

I like using public transport because I can either nap or do something when someone drives me to work and home . Think this is what many think. Some guys drive for uber just to have company and for a change. I think even the WSO2 guy did a uber stint.

Mama me welawe parana job ekama karagena lankawe hitiyath wife tai, matai 300,000 kata wada hambawenawa. Still not worth. Because of other problems I mentioned.

There are so many people like us. That's why they don't seem SL is not a better place to live. Again, people who earn more than 300,000 and live in Colombo are mostly IT people I guess. They don't comprise even 0.1% of entire workforce.
