Yes... they are expensive. I don't drink wine but my wife likes the ice wines. Some of the best are from Canada. If I visit Canada I bring in a few for our use and to give it to friends. It’s made from grapes that have frozen on the vine, which happens with air temperatures around - 8 deg C. (minus)
Before they are thawed, winemakers pick and press the grapes while they’re still frozen. Only the highly concentrated juice is pressed from the frozen grapes, leaving behind the icy water crystals and producing an intensely flavored product. The sweetness depends on the grape and some are less sweet.
