Women representative කෙනෙක් නිසා තවත් ෂේප්. Nepotism වුනත් ඇත්ත තත්වෙ එවගේ වැදගත් අයට විතරයි රටක් කරන්න පුලුවන්.

“A Member of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, Foreign Secretary Wijewardane counts 34 years in the Foreign Service and has held many positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo, at Sri Lanka Missions overseas and in international organisations. The Sri Lanka Foreign Service Association has welcomed the appointment of Ambassador Aruni Wijewardane, a member of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This was made known via a media release by the SLFSA today (24).

“The SLFSA is delighted to congratulate Ambassador Wijewardane on her new leadership role, which represents great responsibility, especially at this challenging time. Ambassador Wijewardane brings to the position years of experience, both as a Sri Lanka Foreign Service officer and a diplomat serving her country at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and overseas as well as an international civil servant at the International Atomic Energy Agency,” the statement read.

It further mentioned that the SLFSA is confident that Ambassador Wijewardane’s understanding of international affairs and skills will inject new dynamism to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contribute to advancing Sri Lanka’s national interests.

“The members of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service Association look forward to working constructively with the new Foreign Secretary in order to strengthen the Foreign Service and the institution, and to help create a future that meets the legitimate needs and aspirations of all Sri Lankans,” the statement concluded.
