Do you remember coulomb's law? We learned it in middle school. It gives the force between two charges.
So if we place two spheres charged with 1 coulomb negative and positive each, 1 meter apart, the attraction force between them is about 9 Billion Newtons! (9,000,000,000 N!) That is enough force to lift 900,000 tons.
1 coulomb is not huge. By define of amps, a current flow of 1 ampere for 1 second gives 1 coulomb. A small pen torch (AA) battery has about 1500mAh, so about 5400 coulombs in it (1.5A x 3600 seconds).
Let's imagine one sphere is attached to a massive piston weighing 1 ton (1000 kg). Other sphere is held fixed 1 meter away. Now you give 1 mili coulombs negative and positive to both spheres each. The piston gets a force of 9000 newtons, and from F= MA, is accelerated 9 ms-2, hits other charge and gets canceled. Then you charge them back with both positive at 1 mili coulombs, so the piston goes back.
Remember. 1 pen torch battery has 5400 coulombs, so 5.4 million mili coulombs. Since 1 time takes 2x2=4 mili coulombs, one battery can do this 1.35 million times. Since a day has 86400 seconds, if it's done once per second, it can do this for more than 16 days or more than two weeks.
You read that right! From this setup, a single pen torch battery can move a 1 ton (1000 kg) piston back and forth 1 meter (as in piston stroke), 1 time per second for two weeks. Just imagine how massive 1 ton piston is, and if it can move 1 meter back and forth every second for 2 weeks, how much energy that is! Easily like a big power plant like නොරොච්චෝලේ.
This is obviously ridiculous, but Math checks out! Either coulomb's law is fake, or we can power sri lanka with a few pen torch batteries. If you can, prove me wrong.
