Nuclear Fission - "a reaction in which the nucleus of an atom splits into two or more smaller nuclei" the process creates a lot of energy - this is used in Nuclear power plants
Nuclear Fusion - " is the process by which two light atomic nuclei combine to form a single heavier one while releasing massive amounts of energy" - this is basically how the sun is creating energy
After about 60 years of research, On December 5, a team at LLNLâs National Ignition Facility (NIF) conducted the first controlled fusion experiment in history which produced more energy from fusion than the laser energy used to drive it. Nuclear fusion reactions were conducted in labs for many decades, but it is absolutely remarkable to achieve a net energy gain.!
