It is better if you learn the fundamentals using Notepad. I know typing camel-case keywords is a pain in the ass. but it is useful for memorizing the fundamentals. When you are ready for OOP, you can move to an IDE and select any IDE that you like. I'm using Eclipse with the Open JDK

If you are doing commercial programming with Oracle JDK and the Java SE edition you need to pay a subscription fee for updates and support, but Open JDK is free for any commercial uses. but for learning purposes, both are free.

VSCode වලිං පටං ගනිං. Basic errors තේරුං අරගෙන හොඳ foundation එකක් දාගනිං මුලින්ම. Advanced IDE වලට පස්සෙ මාරු වෙයං.

It was Eclipse for me earlier in my professional life.
Then as everyone else, moved to "IntelliJ"
Both has pros & const.
As a beginner, go for 'Eclipse'
