From my own experiences as an aircraft engineer i would say yes , lets face it all the comments i read are either from denying pilots or FAs , my soon to be my wife girlfriend is a FA and she tells me stories of things they did when they were on layovers. Hookups are very common, married pilots or FAs having a drunk one night stands are a frequent occasion. Just yesterday when she was coming back from her international flight two of the 4 pilots that were assigned with her have tried to hit on her. I dont really blame the flight deck crew though , because there are many FAs who are willing to sleep around with them. Having worked as a flight Engineer myself i can confess that this type of infidelity is more common in flight crew jobs than any other. i am not saying there arent faithful flight crews but considering the glam all the partying and drinking its definitely a high probability.
i wouldn’t have ,even in my wildest dreams, considered a FA for a marriage but you never know when and where love hits you. I am hoping she will leave her job after we are both financially stable , and i will stop working shift hours so i can give her my time and the attention she needs. DON’T assume i am a control freak i have seen too much to let it slide, i wanna long peaceful love life and that ain’t gonna happen if either of us are flying frequently.
So if your SO is in this job make sure to have a careful observations on their activities. On the other hand these people are also a victim of infidelity from their SOs because they spend most of their time traveling. In conclusion i would have to say its the worst type of job you could have if you are in a relationship , have a family or planning to have one.
my apologies for the faithful flight crews who might be offended by this but i am sure you all know what i wrote is true
