I literally came here to write the same thing, but there is a later reply with all the findings. and glad to hear that OP is recovered now.


By the way, there is a cough spreading among kids, and not sure whether it is related to Covid or some other thing. I live in Matara, and suddenly both of my kids(6YO and 2.5YO) got it—no other symptoms, just a cough. My little one(2.5YO) showed a bit of wheezing symptoms and had to be nebulized and given inhalers for a couple of days until she got better.

Then, I spoke to a few friends located around Colombo, and most of their kids also got it. and guess what? Almost all of their younger kids (2-3 years old) had this wheezing thing, and they had to be nebulized and/or given inhalers.

CRP with 126 is unlikely caused by viral infection unless there is a secondary bacterial infection. In some bacterial infections CRP can rise even above 400.

Normal leukocyte range is between 4-10. I don't know whether you are saying 6.3 thousand or 63 thousand. That high of a value (63 thousand) could mean sepsis or hematological malignancy. Low iron, high ferritin, and high CRP all show an inflammatory reaction. What's with the urine full report? I don't know why someone would do a relatively pricey test like PSA without doing a simple UFR first. Next, I would suggest doing a blood picture to clearly understand what's happening (if you are following up yourself). Another thing is the accuracy of lab reports. After the economic crisis, most labs in the country are not maintaining quality control, especially with serum electrolytes reports, even in major private hospitals. Some go to lengths to dilute the reagents to examine more samples.

Still not exactly 100%, so I repeated the tests yesterday. All the low K, Na, and the high Ferritin levels have returned back to normalcy, the CRP is now 21.5
Did a urine test - both Leucocytes & Erythrocytes high and the culture shows there's an organism present needing an antibiotic. Also did an US scan, kidneys, bladder normal but the prostate is a bit enlarged. That explains it.

The moment I suspected the urine infection I started on Keflex as soon as the samples were collected. I had both Molnupiravir and Paxlovid with me at hand but didn't even use the antivirals. Since we often travel I always have drugs at hand just in case.

Thanks everyone who made a positive suggestions and concerns. Sometimes we can get confused because of certain conditions. I did three RAT tests (of course bloody Chinese crappy ones) on three days, all reported negative. I knew something was wrong but until the urine symptoms appeared three days later, I had no other symptoms.

However, this is what I didn't tell you. On Saturday evening the PCR test results came with Positive Covid report. The urine and blood culture reports came out the next day (takes time) - no infections detected and quite normal.
So I knew what's wrong and didn't worry about it at all. As soon as the PCR result came, I took out an old test kit, two months past expiry - but made by Abbot - South Korea. It's a Generation 1 test made for the original Wuhan virus. That reported positive. Then I tested my wife and son using the Korean test kit, they both were negative. Tested myself and still negative for the Chinese RAT.

Since I had no respiratory symptoms the viral shedding must have been low so that the others around me didn't get infected. The Chinese crap RAT tests are either have very low sensitivity or just fakes. They are still making money from the Wuhan virus.
These false negative RAT tests and the fact that I had no other typical symptoms made the difficulty in figuring out what's wrong with me.
I am alright now almost fully recovered, don't feel anything is crook with me anymore. This Covid virus only affected the urinary system & the bladder.
Though the exact mechanism of this is still unknown, many think that the coexpression of the ACE2 and TMPRSS2 in the prostate leads to inflammation.

Btw, there is a covid wave in SG. Apart from that, no other major illnesses are in circulation (as far as I know). If you were in SG and specially if you weren't putting your penis in random holes, tis almost impossible to get random deceases except for covid, which is known to be in circulation these days.

Very true... fake vaccines, fake test kits. When I said here in early 2020 (somewhere in Feb) that China f!@#ed the entire World., some laughed at me. Check my posts at that time. Never trust the bastards.

PS: What confused me was no symptoms and the negative RAT tests.

@Bad_horse - Forgot to mention that I started on Silodosin 8 mg qd immediately which eased out the urine problems, because I was travelling away. I am quite alright now.
