It's not just about company scale or customers. Currently running on Series E Funding, WSO2 was founded 18 years ago and is still operating as a startup. This definitely doesn't bode well for investors, you need something more to generate actual profits. 18 years is more than enough time to turn a profit or face bankruptcy. Depending on funding indefinitely isn't sustainable.

IFS is totally different, they are already an established business and do not depend on funding.

It is simple if I have a company that makes $12 profit per month and $120 per annum, my company is worth more than WSO2 because it is a profit-making company.

in our company, we still use their old WSO2 ESBs and I'm still amazed about how complex those are and how the hell they managed to do that here in sri lanka. it's crazy. their tools and products (open source as well) are insanely advanced stuff, not just a product. they make tools, platforms for developers, and technologies, infrastructure to build solutions on top of them and run in global scale . so they truly deserved to get paid high.
