    Hey everyone,

I’m planning to buy a Mercedes Benz C180, most likely a 2010, 2011, or 2012 model since that’s what fits my budget. I’ve always liked the look and feel of it, but I’ve heard maintenance and repair costs can get high for older Mercs.

A few details about my situation:

    • This won’t be my daily driver , I already have two Toyotas for that.
    • I’m planning to keep it for around 7–8 months and then sell it.
    • I mainly want something classy and fun to own for a short time.
If anyone here owns or has owned one, I’d love to hear your thoughts:

    • How’s the reliability and comfort?
    • Are maintenance and parts costs really that bad?
    • Any common issues I should look out for?
    • How’s the resale value if I sell it within a few months?
And if you think it’s not worth it, please suggest a better alternative in a similar price range that still feels premium.

Thanks a lot for your advice! 🙏

    1. Comfort 100% compared to Toyota’s but check maintenance records. Otherwise you’ll ended up in repairs including suspension radiators possibly engine as well
    2. Yes bit costly but there are 3rd party repair Centers other than DIMO
    3. No idea on C180 but check suspension radiators etc hose fans ac system and interior
    4. No idea on resale or current market prices

Check E200 as well (W212) hope the price is in similar range

Every year allocate 5 laks for the car. A service costs around 100,000 once a year. Have full insurance. Reliable car and do preventive maintenance.

Enjoy your ride, Life is short, Its your money so spend it on fine things and enjoy !!
Honestly when you buy something you really like you won't have the urge to resell it and you won't mind even keeping it for a long time. If you want make others happy buy something else.
