I think you can challenge it, they once sent me the detailed documents with the cost before asking whether to clear it behalf of me, Since I am not an expert in duties and anything under 10k isn't worth fighting for I didn't go to check/argue. But I didn't see any issues there machan.

this is exactly what happens to me 2 years ago guys, I had a guestimate about the tax about based on the hs codes for items i ordered (about 40-45%), and asked presto guys to handle custom stuff. but once they handed me the items and the documents, tax rate is almost 75% or 80% basically double the cost at the end.
since that day i'm bit scared about presto's custom handling and documentation. i though next time i order I'll go by myself to release the items from customs instead of asking from presto.

Presto doesn't do the custom handling ban, it is fedex, it has been like this for sometime. But you could have still asked them to give you the detailed declaration and then checked it.

You can ask for the detailed declaration given by their Asycuda or some system. I have emails they sent me.

Why do they choose to do it the difficult way by printing their own tax receipts? They could simply provide us with the original customs receipt (or at the very least a copy of it)

@Hyaenidae, that is wrong ban, you have the shipping rates, then there is the clearing cost which they will show you. Everthing is based on the HS code and it isn't a flat rate. How do I know this? because I have been bringing down things through them for sometime.

it all depends on the items your brining down and based on HS codes only they charge
Im using fedex for idk how long, and there has never been an instance where an additional or incorrect tax was charged.
