I upgraded from a KEI car which I drove fro 7 years. It was manufactured in 2015. So, my experience would be pretty different from a person who is looking into this (specially coming from another Jap 1000+ CC model car).
I will do a comprehensive review once I reach 1000KM and do the first service. All my experience is in-relative to my old KEI car. So take it with a grain of salt.
Outer look
looks better. Has 17 inch alloys + full size alloy spare wheel which is +. All tires comes with Bridgestone Turanza tires which I believe pretty good. tires feel really comfy. This is 15mm higher than the Raize and Rocky so have a better ground clearance. Shell seems to be little bold compared to Raize. Apart from that all looks similar. Rear has a little difference but it's nothing much. Looks bigger and bold specially if you choose white color. It has sequential turn signals so that's also great.
Interior
Some says it's cheap plastic, but I like it. Coming from a 10 year old KEI car, this is an absolute upgrade. It has some soft touch materials where arm reset is in all 4 doors and console. Has floor illumination lights when you turn on lights. All 5 seats are leather and has a red accent which looks nice. Has a comfy feeling. Boot is bigger and has a dicky light, cargo hooks, a privacy tint etc... You get a higher seat position and visibility is great. I'm 5'9 and both front and back seats has enough space for me. Rear does not get AC vents but 2x USB charging ports. No auto AC but AC panel with digital display. AC is pretty great at lowest settings and it cools the cabin pretty fast with 3 people inside even in a hot day. (This is without no tinting applied to windows). Has 6 speakers for audio. I hate the head unit because it does not support Android auto or Apple car play because I rely on it. So I might gonna replace it in the future. Apart from that it's a great player. You get 2x USB ports, 1x HDMI, 12v Outlet in the center console.
Driving
So far I have only driven around 100KMs after receiving it from the agent. So I cannot tell much. But turbo engine is powerful and great for overtaking. Fuel economy is not great but it's expected until your first service. So far, bumper to bumper heavy traffic it does around 8-9KMpl and with normal traffic it does around 12-13 (these figures are from instrument cluster. not from the refueling calculations). Suspension seems great compared to my old car (some says it's hard but for me it's great). I think bigger tires play a great role here. Sometimes you get a bouncy feeling but I like it. There is a body roll but it's OK compared to the height this have.
Features
Has 6 air bags which prevents me from adding seat covers. Even though there are air bag friendly seat covers, how can we guarantee the reliability?This has blind spot monitoring, Adaptive cruise control, Lane keep assist, lane departure warning, Rear collision traffic alert, Hill hold assist, auto brake etc, Auto high beam, adaptive high beam, High beam turns while you rotate your steering wheel... So it's feature packed. A DVR comes from the factory and a 64GB micro SD card is supplied from the company.
Agent and ordering experience
I ordered this from the Kandy showroom. Paid initial payment which is 500K on 1st Jan, Chassis numbers were assigned mid Jan and full payment done on 21st. Vehicle is delivered to me on 27th and the CR was given to me on 2nd of Feb as a PDF (I went with a partial lease hence bank gets the original CR). ERL system got updated 3rd Feb and I got my revenue license online same day.
Unimo does a great job with customer handling. Sometimes you might have to give a call and remind them but once it's done, they attend to it pretty quickly. If they have ready stocks (usually for white and Red/Black two tone) they deliver the vehicle within 4-5 working days.
Two tone is 100K higher than the single color. There is a price hike happening but not sure if it's the case.
So that's it for now. Will give an update once I drove more and done the first service.
