    Key Insights and Comparison
    • Historical Depth: Iran-Sri Lanka ties are more consistent and less interrupted, with Iran often stepping in during crises (e.g., post-tsunami arms aid in 2005). Israel's relations have been "on-again, off-again," influenced by Sri Lanka's non-aligned policies and pro-Palestinian leanings in the 1970s–1990s.
    • Quantifiable Impact: Iran's financial support stands out with multi-billion-dollar deals and debt relief, directly aiding Sri Lanka's energy security and economy. Israel's support is more workforce-oriented, providing jobs for ~20,000+ Sri Lankans (critical for remittances, estimated at hundreds of millions annually) and boosting tourism revenue.
    • Recent Developments (as of early 2026): Iran continues high-level engagements, like FM talks in January 2026, focusing on trade amid global tensions.
    • Challenges: Both relationships face external pressures—U.S. sanctions on Iran complicate trade, while Israel's Gaza involvement has sparked anti-Israel protests in Sri Lanka and calls for boycotts.

    • Overall "Most" Support: If measured by total financial and political aid over time, Iran edges out due to larger-scale loans and consistent backing against international scrutiny. However, Israel's current contributions are more immediate and people-focused, especially for employment during Sri Lanka's economic recovery. Sri Lanka balances both, avoiding over-reliance on one.

Iran is not an enemy. They're friends. But the negative sentiment about Muslims in general, among the majority Elakiriyans, make them like it when something associated with Islam is beaten.
Such stupid mentality similar to indians, more like the godey mentality of uneducated gamey people 🤣🤣🤣🤣
