Machan a degree is just an attire. just a suit. I recommend APIIT and IIT. NIBM a bit. but never go to SLIIT and you ll have to work for 5000LKR in virtusa as a QA Inspector (awful).....

anyway, just obtain a good degree with at least a second upper. with that, make sure you do some professional certifications depending on your ability, likeness and the budget.

No offense but you cannot say that those two institutions provide the best degrees. Any degree in the IT field is just a degree.I have couple of my cousins completed the their IT degrees @ APIIT and they are treated the same as any other degree holder!
Having a degree is the basic qualification for you to apply for a job. If you manage to go further into postgrad level,then you would have a definite advantage over others.Also at the moment the IT sector is in real down the dumps! So If you plan to do a degree in IT ,better do something like cima or law parallel to that.
