Help on Buying a 20+ inch LCD Monitor

@OptiplexFx to put it simply... i hate them and their business practices. but they are so big and influential. and almost all the shops in unity are filled with ******** you have to argue and almost threaten to start a fight if you need to claim warranty. forget about warranty i even hate just buying something from them. you have wait in their stores for hours. i just don't know of any place that actually have customer care, in SL

I once had to make a complaint to the Consumer Affairs Authority to get a warranty claim from those bastereds. But once an agent from CAA spoke with them, even the manager came down and apologized to me in person and gave me much better components than what I originally bought.. LOL . Bunch of loosers..

Next time some one tries to play you, threaten them with legal action..

Both those monitors (Samsung and LG) have DVI inputs; infact all new LCD monitors have either DVI or HDMI.

And then DVI = HDMI (except some content protection stuff and audio). Visual quality is same.

@sandun_kg machan the 22 sam has a DVI input. and i am hoping to use it i don't need HDMI cause i am only going to use this with my PC. and if i need i think i should be able to use a DVI to HDMI converter cable.. or something.

You don't need to file a case or spend money if you do it through Consumer Affairs Authority (http://www.consumeraffairs.gov.lk). They'll handle everything on behalf of you, just call them or write an official letter with the details. First an agent will contact the shop, most of the time shop owners are afraid to take it any further so they'll just give up and let what ever you want. If they refuses then CAA will take legal action, even then we don't have to pay anything (I think). But as I said, it will not go that far.

I did this a long time ago, CAA guys were very helpful and said that was the first time someone has complained against a computer shop, and they were very eager to take on the complaint, cos it was new for them .

went to unity today and asked around. apparently barclays says that they will 'get it' for me within a number of days of placing a order for the 23 sam. it would cost me 27500 or something like that.

@Nuwanddi machan i gave a call, but it seems that the stocks are not available for 23 sam. he said it would cost me 26000 and that stocks would arrive in the next week. his stuff are cheaper than barclays

there are some dell and asuse stuff, but they are more expensive. guess i will go for a samsung. do you think that the 23 sam stocks will arrive on next week? if so i might as well wait for that.

im using the 2233sw///its a good monitor..its been 3 months..ot even a single prob..
good colour and good everything..i even get 1080p results while hooking it up to my ps3..go for it...

btw if you hav around 30k to burn why dont you go for a 24"(sammy)or 23"(acer)...i 23"acer is ~28( i think 2233sw has its own 23" for around 28 i guess...check Barclays)
and 24" full hd t240 comes around ~32-34...(the diffs between 2233sw and t40 is od some ratios,and some minor stuff)
