Help on Buying a 20+ inch LCD Monitor

Hi all, i am hoping to buy a 20+ inches LCD. right now i am thinking of buying the 21.5 inch 2233SW samsung one from unity for about 24000. are there any better deals? or any suggestions/advice for me?

My budget is around 20,000-30,000

Looks like a pretty solid monitor, and the price seems all right too (sorry, I don’t have an idea about Sri Lankan prices).

Both those reviews recommend the monitor. So I wouldn’t worry about the picture quality. Has a full HD panel 1920x1080px , 5ms response time , 1000:1 (15000:1 dynamic) contrast ratio, 300 cdm2 brightness, etc..

Samsung is a prtty good LCD manufacturer, I have a 26” Samsung with a somewhat similar look (the glass like bezel), design really stands out. like it a lot .

yes machan, the specs looks fine and the brand is ok(i think). there is a another LG one here for the same price. it's W2243T. what do you think about that one? i assumed the samsung one is better. read some reviews.. .and the specs are almost the same. don't know which one to buy btw the LG's DC is higher... but then DC is mostly a marketing tool and i can't compare LG's DC to Samsung's DC, so i won't say LG is better just because their DC is higher.

buy it bro. m having the same model. and ive bought it 3 weeks back. its really cool LCD for that price. and its HD 1080p supported.

Yeah, DC is just a gimmick, real contrast ratio is what matters, and almost always it max outs at 1000:1 for standard TN panels.

Actually I bought a LG 26” before I got the Samsung, but it had a dead pixel and a horrible yellow tint. A single dead pixel I could live with, but no matter what I did, color simply wouldn’t look realistic. Maybe it was a bad apple, cos when checked the same model at the store, it looked pretty good. Anywas I didnt want to take any chances so returned it and got a Samsung.

Having said that, LG is not a bad brand at all. Best way to choose is by testing out both displays before buying. But I don't think stores have display units of all the LCDs they sell.

That first LG I tried had few more options like an intelligent light sensor + few more color presets etc..And I think LG usually has few extra gimmicks, check the full spec and manual.. But then again they don’t matter much at the end.

bought it from barclays . for 24,450 with 3 years warranty.

u can buy that 2333 one from PC Land bro. they r the one who supply
those high end products like ASUS Mobos HD LCDs and VGA cards to braclays even. by the time i was looking to buy they were out of stock. but now they hav i think. they offered me 27500. even that's pretty gud price.

I wouldn't buy from PC house or any of their partners, don't know if PC Land is one of PC house's unofficial outlet, but if it is, then forget about the 3 year warranty..

@OptiplexFx to put it simply... i hate them and their business practices. but they are so big and influential. and almost all the shops in unity are filled with ******** you have to argue and almost threaten to start a fight if you need to claim warranty. forget about warranty i even hate just buying something from them. you have wait in their stores for hours. i just don't know of any place that actually have customer care, in SL
