And listen carefully, 1000+ were applied, and only 400 were called for the interview! Their knowledge was tested by 3 written papers for 3 subjects, 1 IQ paper, 1 English paper and the applicants who passed the exam then went through a physical test, then the top 25 were selected. There was nothing wrong in the procedure

Soo now ur satisfied with what the gov do to reasanabalise this thing....
do u have any idea what hardships and troubles other students face when they are abroad....? Im not saying private med schools are good thing... but what im saying is just shouting only to that is not fair... then all the foreing students will have to baned from practising here...
coz anyhow at least a few pass act 16 exam no...
and the above mentioned thing by me shoul also be banned as it is sooo stupid from it seems...

WEll my dear... Provide it in the unofficial way... Anything is welcome.... and i have solid prooof of what Im saying and how the system works... and the person I'm talking of is in the Ragama faculty and not in any of the faculties u mentioned... ur just another gov Party whip as i said earlier barks for nothing....:lol:
anyway... ur the one who told earlier that Only the HIGH talented and all that goes into the med... so why this lessor talented guys get a chance then>>>>??
whts the correctness in that ????
becoz they have someone in the military???? and others who just got less one or two marks cant get in???
thats the most Unfair thing what i see... and u all r big kind hearted for that..
And if u want prooofs and all... I assure u i can provide everything...
And im willingly to infront f our judicature sysrem anytime for this matter to proove the stupidity in this process....
and u mght know that the bond is for just 15 yrs rte???
then after that whoese lives are in danger???
u talk like ur the best med professor in this whole country...
just meeet up with ur qualifications if u want more clarifications on this matter....

Well bro what you have mentioned may happened earlier, but this time the selecting process was clear and with out interference of government/army offcials. So you cant state that Army chiefs' sons and daughters entered the med fac by this way
If u want proof, just check , those students are from mathara(Rahula Col), Galle(Mahinda Col), tangalle, Kurunegala, Colombo, Kandy etc. They are from every corner of SL. If all the students were from colombo, or kandy , one can say the process was not fair!!
And this is the current procedure, not the EARLY procedure!!

And what is wrong in training army doctors?? As we all know, very low percentage of doctors join the army. They cant urge doctors to join the army!!! So they have chosen the correct way

And about the bond, yes its for that period, so whats the big deal?? That mean they should serve in army for 15 years, after that period they can retire if they want!!
:rofl: And is there a MUST to join government Health Service after their retirement??
And those students learn under quality lecturers and they have enough clinical exposure to treat any kinda patient. So i dont think under that environment and tough examination system, that they would turn in to poory qualified doctors!!
:frown::frown: If you are familiar with med fac examinations, you may know how many repeat the major exams, and how many miss the batch! So you should have sound knowledge and experience to pass GMC examinations
So dont worry about their knowledge:):):)

And sorry to disappoint you, im not a med professor :lol::lol:

:yes::yes: Yes im satisfied with the procedure, at least this time its not in the hands of politicians. Even my two friends who dint have anyone related to army or politics in their families got selected to Kothalawala Defence University
And i accept that foreign university students undergo difficult situations, its their pathway they chose it. But a government cant give jobs simply for sympathy na?? Thats why the act 16 exam is there!! If there are smarter ones with adequate knowledge, they will pass that exam, no need to ban the foreign degrees. If they pass they will get all the privilages of a GMC doctor:P:P Isnt that enough for their hard work??

And yes rich students go abroad and get a degree and come, while the poor people follow other pathways,i agree its wrong!!!
But why should we encourage the wrong?? If others do something wrong, do we have to do that too??
PMC's ambition is not to provide our country with doctors and make srilankans healthier. Their ambition to earn money, profit

PMC should have been good, if it is open to poor students, if it is enriched with necessary facilities, good lecturers, adequate clinical exposure!! But the problem is its not the aladin's lamp that provide good qualified doctors.
This is a process that clearly sell medical degree to rich people:baffled::baffled::baffled::baffled::oo::oo::oo::oo:( Please refer to the wal bada's posts, he has mentioned everything clearly)

And sorry to disappoint you, im not a med professor :lol::lol: (hell yeah i knew it form the beginig! :p

Well the fact of the matter is that i know how the army doctors react when a pregnant woman came in to their hands... (my own experience)...

I hope that has been changed now as u say that the process have been altered much to better now...
but u also agreed that it was not like that before right???
and dont jump into the example of army chief's children getting into the med facts directly...
i have many other examples regarding to this incident where the army officers had acted soo stupidly in trying to get their children into gmc's...

But the matter still arises as those ppl who got selected to the gmc's WITHOUT the neccassary qualifications MENTIONED by the UGC and while serving in the army and they will as usual open up their own dispenceries and start PP...
then it will be the normal ppl that will be tried upon them
, who obviously have a MBBS ceylon but not selected in the eligible way....
And tell me this.. i have seen that advertisement which was on the newspaper saying ragarding to the kotalawala defence acadamy...
why in the world they have mentioned the minimum qualification as 3 S's????
that should be like 2 A's and one B like that according to uu rte???

The thing is this... it will be normal ppl who will be effected by any of this methods...
even the soo called superb qualifying docs also have committed childish simple mistakes that has resulted costing lives of innocent and thru their striking processes...
it should not be a matter where Gmcs just blaming pmcs and all... just becoz the class difference and it shuold not be a war that is conducted merely becoz of rich and poor or jealousy and all....
what i say is that there should be more transparent system in delivering the ppl who should have utmost importance in their ordinary work when it involves human lives...
and for me all these back doors should be closed in gmc's and the pmcs should also be shut down if they cannot deliver qualified personal for the relevant job....
And the most IMPORTANT thing is that PUBLIc also educated to come before the ;legal system of our country and solve thier disputes infront of a learned tribunal... Then everyone will see whose the qualified ppl and who are not becoz normally in cts every detail will be revealed...
