Visit google.com from your mobile browser to download google apps including, maps mail and Youtube.

Garmin Mobile XT is more detailed, and so far its the best.
You can find all the links and maps, inside Elakiri mobile forums.

Don't go to any other shit Google maps is the best for now.

If you dont have a prob with packet data connection charges (GPRS Charges), yeah that's the best. For a long journey, -- besides fuel, this will be another expense too. Because the maps are not stored in the device, with each run the map will be downloaded from the internet everytime.

However more complex features such as POI marking/updating - contact database, detail level in remote roads, Voice assisted navigation, I suggest to stick with garmin. Overall, it doesnt charge you for anything, since the map is locally stored in the device.

With garmin mapsource, you can plan your trip routes early, draw a route and use it on the run. The voice assisted navigation will guide through the journey, thus minimizing the risk of accidents caused by having to watch the device screen all the time.

Most military organizations, (which includes SL army, Airforce) uses Garmin navigation units for navigation.

Dont praise an application + call everything else s*** -- just because you found it nice , and well decorated with colors and images.
Provide a proper comparison among each option / so the other users can decide whats best and what suits their need. Most people stick with google maps, not realizing that they are getting charged for it, and at the end of the monthly bill cycle they run to dialog and ask why am i being charged for GPRS ??

    :-)

No offense mate, Just my 2 cents.
