All jokes aside and to be honest Im not sure I have anything against the JVP. Its these self serving medics like kulasingha who are shouting about this that bothers me most. They think we are all idiots that will be lead by them.

Their slogan should be "long live my private practise" not get rid of PMC.

no way you can have anythig against JVP because its always there to guide the gournments when it needs but always the gournments betray them after getting power. The sad thing is there are only two types. athe haki aya and nathe bari aya. .. I need a drink .. wait Indolanka givisuma to today .. :baffled:

Yeah, plus there is the ACT 16, PLAB, USMLE not to mention tons of postgraduate exams. Medical school is a beginning not an end. We need more PMC not less. We need more private universities not less.

What we do need less of is private practise by government doctors who benefited from free education...step forward Kulasingha and co.

The medical students I know have to study hard...they have no time for all this political pelapali nonsense. These idiots at the MFSAC are wasting the priviledge of free education which we the public pay for. You people are a useless waste of space and oxygen.

  • And why you oppose allied health sciences people from studying in the government universities and making enoromous problems for them with having practicals in gov. Hospitals?????
AHS course has a problem, and it makes conflicts with current clinical setup. At present, doctors are the only people allowed to take clinical decisions in SL. The graduates of AHSF are allowed to take clinical decisions, which they are not capable according to their training IMO. And Supreme Court also has acknowledged the fact that only Doctors are allowed to take clinical decisions on the patients.

AHSF training was first carried out at TH Peradeniya and GH Kandy, where over 400 medical students are doing their practicals, under very difficult conditions. Imagine adding 100 more to it! AHSF students were allowed to do practicals in BH-Gampola, TH Kurunegala and TH Kegalle. So they are allowed free education. But ATM they cannot be allowed to be trained in TH Peradeniya and GH Kandy and compromise medical graduates practical schedule.

  • But as a citizen of Sri lanka I am seriously disappointed how MAJORITY of the doctors are taking poor peoples lives as bates and do business.
    :no::no:
You are suggesting that other professions are saints? CYPETCO workers, Electricity workers etc does not take human lives as baits?

There are two alternatives for doctors
    1. To engage in trade union actions when necessary to win the rights

    2. To keep quiet at injustice. But others have to take trade union actions on behalf of the doctors and win them the disputed rights.

Now will you do the second?

  • its because there rnt any private universities in sri lanka that millions of money is being lost from sri lanka as foreign exchange. y don't u fools understand this v are all not as smart as u to b selected to government universities. just because u will have to face higher competition if they r setup doesn't give u the rite to stop such a good thing from happening.

wht is this bull shit nonsense that u keep on spreading that private universities give degrees for money??? v have to do exms as well u knw.

i guess even though u guys r smart u people arent practical enough to understand the damage ur doin to this country . FUCK U EXTREMISTS
    1. Private Universities are started by foreign business men. Explain how millions are saved. What ever is saved will be taxes, and that will be a very small amount because it is an education institute

    2. You might have forgotten (or might have been peeing in the nappies) in 1984-5 time the North Colombo medical School (a private medical faculty) have recruited students with stars (<25 marks) in all subjects. PUs only want the income. they don't care about quality much.

    3. Private Universities are good if they allow every student to be enrolled. Obviously poor students need some loan system from government. Curriculum of PUs should be strictly monitored, as well as their exams. Without the necessary infra structure PUs might become a menace.

Free education is a failed implementation in SL, there are better implementations of the concept i.e. : Japan
Sri Lankan GOVT should take immediate actions to answer the problems that are faced by the whole of SL just because free education is there. It wasn't made for an environment that has private education institutes but now there is and its competing with free education and is growing fast. If people want to save Free Education or a part of the concept they should act very soon but... they just don't care they just blame the GOVT lol

So, you trade off that for a sizable salary for doctors? I have worked for five years as a doctor. Still my salary is 27,000. With all the additional payments it's around 40,000. Now in private sector a High level manager (what is parallel with doctors in salary scales in other countries) gets 100,000-150,000. Most of doctors will have no problem if they are paid 100,000, and would not do private practice (And private practice is done after working for 8 hours in the hospital).

And BTW, I don't do PP, before you start name calling.
