ESET Smart Security says everything is a virus

Today i installed ESET Smart Security 4.
but it says almost every .exe is a virus.

i cant run Dos prompt because its a virus
not regedit.exe
not msconfig.exe
not wmplayer.exe
not outlookmessenger

and many more installed softwares are worms/viruses according to ESET.

i know that it is a great Antivirus and a firewall, but now it is a headache to me...


please help.

ur .exe ' s might got infected . .

better if u install ur operating system again . .

everything is running when i disable ESET. i can run any of the apps i mentioned.

but with ESET, it quarantines everything.

well installing the OS again is a big NO

what else i can do about this?

he he .. it's not antivirus system's fault ... ur computer might be infected with win32.sality virus .. it eats up almost every .exe files

btw .. didn't u use a good & updated antivirus software before ? that may be the reason ur PC is infected .

oh thanks...

my KIS key blacklisted and i couldnt find a new one. so i didnt use any AV for the last couple of weeks.

hey note that every .exe works fine when my ESET is disabled how is that possible..?

yeah ! they are .. eset blocks exe from running cause its attached with the virus .. when eset is disabled , program runs fine . but the virus keep spreadig & spreading to every exe file in ur computer ..

happened to me once & lost almost all little sized ( belo 20mb )software setup files ( exe ) ..
But I think bitdefender can deattach the exe & the virus keeping the exe file safe .. not sure though ok
