Journalists allegedly assaulted at UNP convention
When contacted by Daily Mirror online the police confirmed that the journalists were assaulted and that the incident took place outside the premises where the UNP convention was taking place. (SD)

Looking at the way ITN and RUPAVAHINI handled media very soon NOT UNP but people of Sri Lanka will hammer them . . . . . .
It should be fairly obvious to all citizens of this country who watch the pathetic state media today, the reason for these guys to go for this convention ! They have been trying to fish in troubled waters and may have deserved what they got in return. You are a disgrace to the intelligent people of this country.
They must get it back for being one sided
All these time Private TV channels were at the receiving end of state sponsored thugary.

A presidential commission will be appointed for this too. The difference is that, this time we would be told who did it and the culprits will be arrested, unlike when all the other journalists were assaulted, abducted and killed!

If MERVYN SILVA can attack Rupavahini and no inquiries, why not the public attack Rupavahini and there shouldn't be any inquiries. President has made a precedent. Now the return is coming from the opposition and from the general public.
These journalists have trespassed private property.
Lankaputhra what media freedom you talk? please understand Rupavahini & ITN is a state run media. They have been paid by public means from you & my taxes. By watching those channels do you see any unbiased news. They are working for few personal agendas. can we accept this? I think Ranil will include how state run media should act on his constitutional reform.
