as we all know this election is hotting up... lot of mud slinging is going on... i have a different view about all the developments and i firmly beleive that no politician in the world does anything with out a hidden agenda... so will only think about results, not hidden agendas...
here are my views about front line politicians of both sides...

sarath fonseka::::
is the army head during the war... prepared master plan to destroy LTTE. had seriously injured several times and last occation no one thought he will survive. so labelling him as a traitor is not justifiable. think about who label him as a traitor... its politicians who never went to battle front and who never sent their children to war.. may be some had sent their children to navy but to train in UK without going to war zones...think about our selves and compare with SF... how many of us did any thing for war victory apart from talking????remember desciplined army commander will not tolarate if some one orders to kill enemy if they surrender with white flags...

mahinda rajapaksha::::
did give political leadership to war. handled international pressure well. got the blame of certain thigs because of his napotism. but never had an opinion about ethnic problem. promising various things to JHU and promising total opposite to EPDP. and having a bad habbit of forgetting people who supported him...
eg: mangala, JVP, sripathi, former ITN head during last election, sarath fonseka

then we can think of people around them before voting...

people around SF:::

ranil:::
in politics for several decades... was the prime minister in 2001 to 2004... had a cease fire with LTTE.. had lot of allegations as a LTTE supporter but LTTE prevented tamils from voting him in 2005 for unknown reason for us. and even if ranil agreed for controversial cease fire as a result of that (may not be intentional by ranil, but as a result) karuna broke away from LTTE which is the biggest factor in war victory according to my opinion... i say that because in 1995 all the offensives had to stop because karunas attacks on major army camps which killed thousands of army people including one commando regiment...
so SF s master plan and MR s political leadership are less important than what you all think...
and he has unchanged economic and ethnic policies, whether we like or not...

mangala:::
is in sri lankan politics actively since 1994..
and was the deciding factor in several critical situations. in 1994 instrumental in removing 17 year UNP government. and when ranils ceasefire agreement is going out of hand lead the SLFP for a political alliance with JVP and defeated the UNP government. and in 2005 was the campaign manager of MR when SLFP current ministers voted for ranil... so in reality if mangala was not there still we will be under ranils government and still president will be him.... and also has a reputation of a clean minister... despite some of his comments during last year or so did a commendable work as a forign minister to ban LTTE in canada and european union...

JVP:::
doing election politics since 1994 and work with good descipline since then... had a clear stance about LTTE, that is to defeat them militarily... when all others including MR is saying it is not possible... but unlike JHU they represent minority rights also...

hakeem and mano ganashan:::
they represent their community so i dont have much to say about their view as far as they remain in democretic politics...

then we ll see who is with MR these days...

gotabaya::::
claiming to be a war hero... but was left the army and also country during the war time... and was the defence secretory during the war. but it is a secretory post... in other words documentation job as other ministry secretories.. no need to involve with the active decisions of the war in his work capacity... but may have involved unnecessorily abusing his brothers powers and is the main reason for the rift between MR and SF... and he cant be a war hero anyway with his inhumen attitude towards terorists surrendering with white flags, if those reports are correct...

basil:::
mastermind of the government. now is the campaign manager of the election... but he is the most corrupted person in the government... nick name is mr. 10%...

wimal weerawansa:::
best speaker in the country... did a defining role in 2005 election... this time also frontline speaker but his disadvantage is that he is not neutral like in 2005... instead he is with the government and defending all blunders government does... so people will not listen to him as they did in 2005....

JHU:::
they had a clear stance about war... but i feel now they should be eliminated from politics... now they are just cleaner s of MR...

consider all these and vote:yes::yes::yes:

    He left the country in difficult situation... Came back only when his brother became president. And he is the defence secretory which is an administrative post... That position was held by mr chandrananda de silva before..

    Are you refering me as madakaraya? I just put my opinion... And tried to be honorst... But for me gota is just a secretory to a minister... You cant say we didn t have political leadership as the reason for war to continue... True, MR gave good political leadership... But remember it is easier to lead when army is winning and enemy is weakened by exit of their war leader... And any way no need to leave the country for that excuse...

    You can argue like that... But friend what you forgot is at that time indian pressure and this time pressure after LTTE killed Rajiv Gandi... Other countries also baned LTTE after that... And in 1995 main reason to stop was defeats faced by army... Not political leadership...so for me MR s political leadership is excellant... But that doesnt mean previous leaders are not capable... They faced different match both internationally and locally with much powerful LTTE... Its like the difference of M S Dhoni s captaincy in 1st test match and next 2 matches... Same captain had to act totally different ways according to situation...
