A survey conducted by Kelaniya undergrads, on the outcome of the forthcoming Presidential election, predicts that President Mahinda Rajapaksa will receive 60 per cent of the votes polled and Opposition presidential candidate Gen (Rtd) Sarath Fonseka would poll only 38 per cent.
Sixty percent of those interviewed had said Mahinda Rajapaksa was the best candidate to develop the country with Gen. Fonseka scoring 38 per cent.
A spokesman for the survey team said that the results of previous surveys conducted by the university had been accurate.
