5730 has a qwerty keyboard. it has no touchscreen like the 5800.
So you'd have to decide what you need to use the phone for.
If you need it for fast typing like Emails, the 5730 is good. If you're using it for applications which require touch input, the 5800 is good.

Its what your requirement that matters. Well some people just buy the phone and never use its full features. If you just need the phone for show-off, 5800 is good for that!

i use 5800xm for long time now( infact im typing this using it n opera mini5 )
imho its a good phone. havnt used 5730 so cant commnt on that.

'mediocre cam' means the 3.2MP Carl Zeiss optics camera only works good when theres good light.

In sunlight it will be gud, but indoors and low light levels it wont be that good. If you want a very GOOD camera phone better try another model.

Battery life is ok for a smart phone. In any smart phone You will not get very long battery life like usual phone ne. So if you use it normally (without many/long calls + internet usage) you wil get about 2days easily. Even can get more than 3days if you use VERY lightly i guess.

mchn i hav a nokia5800.Trust me its a very good mobile.Battry depends on your usage.mine stand for 2days normal use.Update it to the latest firmwire then u wont face any bugs.Lock or display errors.Its seems diffiuclt to type sms.BUt when u gt use to that u can type faster than any keypad mobiles.browsng is just awesome.And wifi speeds are up to date with the latest speeds.
And its so fashionble n very good for show off since its symbian s60 v5 touch os.so many awesome applications like i phone.

Camera is not that good in dark places.But there are night modes that u can get fine pictures.daylight pictures are sometimes awesome quality.And sound quality is the best i heard from any nokia.hodata balala ganna mchn.
